Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) allows developers to extend agent capabilities through plugins. In model inference scenarios, when a conversation needs to present structured data, generating charts directly is a common requirement. The dsh-plugin-chart plugin integrates AntV chart skills and native tools, giving DSH the ability to render charts directly in a conversation and removing the need to manually write code to call chart libraries.
What Is This¶
This is a community plugin maintained by user lxfu1 and classified under the model inference category. It packages AntV chart visualization skills into DSH, aiming to solve the problem of models being unable to intuitively present data structures in conversations. The plugin uses the MIT license.
Core Features¶
The plugin supports generating 25 chart types, covering common data visualization scenarios:
* Basic charts: area (area chart), bar (bar chart), column (column chart), line (line chart), pie (pie chart), scatter (scatter plot), histogram (histogram).
* Statistical charts: boxplot (box plot), violin (violin plot), radar (radar chart).
* Relationships and flows: sankey (Sankey diagram), network-graph (network graph), flow-diagram (flow diagram), fishbone-diagram (fishbone diagram).
* Structure and hierarchy: organization-chart (organization chart), mind-map (mind map), treemap (treemap), venn (Venn diagram).
* Others: dual-axes (dual-axis chart), funnel (funnel chart), waterfall (waterfall chart), liquid (liquid fill chart), spreadsheet (spreadsheet/table), word-cloud (word cloud).
Installation and Enabling¶
Use the DSH command-line tool to install the plugin into the web profile.
npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile web add github:lxfu1/dsh-plugin-chart
Git-hosted plugins are built from source during installation. If you are using pnpm 10 or later, during the first run of the command above, dsh will prompt you to add a specific allowBuilds key to the profile’s pnpm-workspace.yaml. Follow the path prompt exactly to add the configuration and then rerun the command. Only allow source code that you trust to be built.
Typical Usage¶
The plugin generates charts through natural-language interaction.
- Direct conversation: Provide the data and the message you want to convey directly. The plugin will automatically select an appropriate chart and display the result in the conversation.
- Explicit invocation: If you need to explicitly use the chart capability, type
/chart-visualizationin the conversation and then add your data.
Use Cases and Notes¶
- Data privacy: Chart data is sent to the currently configured chart service. Do not submit passwords, access tokens, private keys, government identifiers, full personal contact details, or unnecessary sensitive business records in prompts.
- Handling sensitive data: When working with sensitive data, aggregate or anonymize it first, or use a compatible self-hosted service.
- Image management: Image retention and access permissions are determined by the selected service.
- Dependency check: Before installing, make sure Node.js
^22.19.0or>=24.0.0is installed and pnpm is available in your PATH.
Summary¶
By integrating AntV skills into DSH, this plugin lowers the barrier to generating charts in conversations. Developers can directly provide data and instructions through dialogue to obtain standardized chart output. For more details, refer to its GitHub repository.
