Introduction¶
The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) plugin ecosystem aims to provide a richer toolchain for agent development. For developers, relying solely on the chat window to edit files is often inefficient and may not meet the needs of code completion, snippet management, and fine-grained version control. The dsh-vscode-mode plugin introduces the Monaco editor, providing DSH with a VSCode-like coding environment and addressing the limited file-editing experience.
Plugin Overview¶
This plugin is maintained by Lenonss and is open-sourced under the MIT License. It integrates Monaco editor, command palette, VS Code-compatible snippets, and LSP-powered smart completion into the DSH client, and supports working in coordination with the official sidebar.
Core Features¶
Monaco File Editor¶
The plugin integrates the Monaco editor into DSH, providing syntax highlighting, line numbers, Search (Ctrl+F), Go to (Ctrl+G), and Save (Ctrl+S). The editor supports auto-save with a 700-millisecond debounce delay.
Command Palette and Command System¶
The command palette can be invoked with Ctrl+Shift+P and supports 20 built-in commands. Users can filter by command name, category, or ID. The command system supports programmable extensions.
VS Code-Compatible Snippets¶
The plugin supports the .code-snippets file format. Users can define snippets in global or project-level directories, and the editor supports IntelliSense expansion and variable placeholders.
Quick Reference¶
Use Ctrl+U to add the selected line content as a reference and send it into the conversation context, making it easier for the AI to make targeted modifications.
LSP Smart Completion¶
Supports Go to Definition (F12), Find References (Shift+F12), hover hints, and Peek with multi-result selection. Smart completion parses annotation indexes (such as ---@class) to provide accurate member lists.
Agent Diff Review¶
The plugin captures agent editing results and provides Keep (accept), Undo, rollback, and archive operations. These states are persisted and remain available after restart.
PDF Browsing and Annotation¶
Supports opening PDF files in the editor, with text box, pen, and highlight annotation features. Annotations can be saved back to the original file with Ctrl+S.
File Management and Sidebar¶
Provides a VSCode-like activity bar and file management panel, supporting right-click menu operations, drag-to-resize widths, and deep integration with the official DSH sidebar.
Rules and MCP Management¶
Supports managing AI rules through .mdc files, as well as visualized management of MCP servers, with project-scoped isolation supported.
Usage Examples¶
- Invoke command palette:
Ctrl+Shift+P - Add reference:
Ctrl+U - Toggle Markdown preview:
Ctrl+Shift+V - Find text:
Ctrl+F - Save file:
Ctrl+S - Edit code snippet: press Tab in a
.code-snippetsfile to expand - Go to Definition:
F12
Notes¶
- Dependency Version: The official DSH 0.1.5+ right-hand Sidebar is required to use the sidebar file editing feature.
- Monaco Version: The editor version is locked to 0.42.0-dev-20230906.
- PDF Limitations: Only annotation-level editing is supported (text box, highlight, etc.); lossless modification of body text is not supported; encrypted PDF files are not supported.
- Tab Limitations: The default maximum number of tabs is 10. Pinned tabs and the currently active tab are protected, and when the limit is exceeded, the least recently used tab is closed automatically.
Conclusion¶
dsh-vscode-mode provides DSH users with a complete code editing experience. If you need stronger code completion, snippet support, and fine-grained Agent diff review, this plugin is an essential supplement.
