Introduction

The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) plugin ecosystem allows local resources to be integrated into the model selector. dsh-connect-workbuddy is a standalone plugin for connecting a locally logged-in WorkBuddy account to DSH. It provides read-only credit overview and model management features, with parallel integration for domestic and international providers.

Core Features

This plugin mainly includes the following capabilities:

  1. Dual-provider parallel integration: Supports both the domestic provider (workbuddy) and the international provider (workbuddy-global).
  2. Plugin card tab switching: The top of the settings card provides two tabs, “Domestic / International”, so management is isolated.
  3. Individually disable providers: Unchecking a provider completely removes it from the model selector.
  4. Model management: Supports refreshing the model catalog from the upstream and toggling each item to enable or disable.
  5. Local account switching: Automatically discovers multiple login credentials left by the WorkBuddy desktop client on the local machine.
  6. Credential invalidation handling: When the upstream rejects a token, it probes other available accounts and suggests one-click switching.
  7. Read-only credit overview: Displays remaining credits aggregated by plan; querying does not consume credits.
  8. Credential path detection: Supports probing multiple candidate paths and lists failure reasons in detail.
  9. Secure loopback shim: Communicates with the upstream through a random port and an in-process secret, without directly exposing the token.
  10. Command-line diagnostics: Provides status, doctor, and logout commands for diagnostics.

Installation and Usage

Prerequisites

  • The WorkBuddy desktop app must be installed and logged in.
  • DSH version 0.1.7-rc.1 or higher must be installed.

Installation Command

It is recommended to install it using the DSH plugin command:

dsh plugin --profile desktop add dsh-connect-workbuddy

Depending on the DSH interface environment you are using, select the corresponding profile parameter:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-connect-workbuddy # Web 环境
dsh plugin --profile dsh-tui add dsh-connect-workbuddy # TUI 环境

After installing or updating the bundle, restart the corresponding DSH process.

Command-line Diagnostics

After installation, you can use the following command-line tools to check login status and credits:

status # 报告登录状态与积分
doctor # 运行诊断
logout # 登出当前区域账号

Platform Support and Differences

This plugin supports Windows, macOS, and Linux. Implementation details differ across platforms.

Aspect Windows macOS Linux
Credential directory %LOCALAPPDATA% / %APPDATA% are preferred, falling back to <home>\AppData ~/Library/Application Support/CodeBuddyExtension/Data/Public/auth $XDG_CONFIG_HOME is preferred, falling back to ~/.config
App executable location Searches %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\WorkBuddy and similar locations Reads the bundle’s Info.plist and obtains CFBundleExecutable (actual value Electron) Not applicable (in the encrypted credential scenario, Linux has no corresponding App)
Child process window windowsHide is required (the host is a GUI process) Not applicable Not applicable
Settings writing May be locked by antivirus software or OneDrive Usually no locking issues No locking issues

Notes

  • The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. Before installation, it is recommended to inspect the source code and license (MIT).
  • The domestic and international editions are two parallel providers, and their settings and accounts do not interfere with each other.
  • Credential files are read-only; the plugin does not write any data to the WorkBuddy desktop app.

Ecosystem Context

The DSH philosophy is “everything is a plugin”. This plugin is maintained on GitHub and can also be viewed in the SkillHub ecosystem catalog.
