Introduction

The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is plugin architecture. When using DSH for local or private deployment, invoking free external models typically requires applying for an API Key or configuring a complex proxy. The opencode2dsh plugin addresses this pain point by adapting to the anonymous channel provided by OpenCode Zen.

Core Features

This plugin registers a native adapter for DSH that directly connects to the free models provided by OpenCode Zen. Its main capabilities are as follows:

  • Zero credentials, zero setup: Uses the anonymous channel without requiring an API Key or registration.
  • Native adapter: Integrated as an npm package, with no sidecar process or local port occupation (legacy mode is not packaged).
  • Request disguise: The outgoing request headers are consistent with those of the OpenCode CLI, making the request source difficult to identify.
  • Thinking level selection: Supports adjusting reasoning intensity in the DSH model selector (e.g., Off/Minimal/High).
  • Live catalog and fallback: Provides a live catalog with fallback chains and self-healing support.
  • Error handling: Delivers proper error surfaces instead of generic error reports.

Installation and Enablement

Run the following command in your terminal to install it:

dsh plugin --profile web add @opencode2dsh/dsh-plugin

After installation is complete, restart the dsh web service:

dsh web

Once the restart is complete, open the DSH model selector and select a model from the opencode2dsh group to start using it.

Notes

Before using it, please ensure your environment meets the following requirements:

  • Environment requirements: A DSH instance running with the web profile is required; Node.js version must be 20 or higher.
  • Network requirements: Ensure outbound HTTPS access to opencode.ai and models.dev is allowed.
  • Permission restrictions: The plugin installation path is restricted to lib/.
  • Security notice: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. It is recommended to review the source code and license before installation.

Short Conclusion

opencode2dsh provides DSH users with a direct way to access the free models provided by OpenCode Zen. Its native adapter avoids additional process overhead, and it offers well-designed catalog management and error handling.
