Introduction¶
When performing financial analysis or industry research, agents often need to monitor global stock markets, commodities, exchange rates, and fund flows simultaneously. Manually consolidating multiple data sources is not only cumbersome but also prone to data inconsistency. The Market Research Cockpit aggregates dispersed public market data endpoints onto a single screen through a built-in data proxy, providing developers with a unified data view.
Plugin Overview¶
This plugin is maintained by theBigGavin and positioned as a “real-time market dashboard for financial and industry research.” It aims to address information fragmentation by presenting real-time quotes for A-shares, HK stocks, US stocks, futures, FX, commodities, and cryptocurrencies through a unified interface.
Core Features¶
The plugin provides the following verified core capabilities:
- Global markets on one screen: Supports A-shares, HK stocks, US stocks, futures, and FX, with minute-level index charts.
- Commodities and cryptocurrencies: Covers NY gold and silver, London gold, Shanghai gold, LME copper, crude oil, and BTC with real-time quotes and intraday curves.
- US Treasury yield monitoring: Tracks 10Y/2Y yields and the 2s10s spread, including monthly historical trends since 2001.
- Sector heat: Provides an industry/concept sector ranking radar chart; click to drill down into constituent stocks, leading stocks, and fund flows.
- Main fund flow tracking: Displays main net inflow rankings, supporting minute-level cumulative sector fund flow curves and gainers/losers lists.
- Industry chain panorama: Covers upstream and downstream links for sectors such as semiconductors, AI computing power, new energy, and robotics, linked to real-time quotes.
- AI model token tracking: Monitors token consumption trends and price competition for 50+ global LLM providers such as OpenRouter.
- Earnings window (/fin): Provides a macro disclosure calendar, earnings expectation rankings, and 12-quarter trends for individual stocks (revenue, profit, ROE, etc.).
- Commodity price page (/goods): Shows futures and spot basis, supporting 30-365-day trend charts and Sunsirs spot quotes.
- 7x24 news flashes: Rolling global financial news, with automatic highlighting of macro keywords and industry chain mentions.
- Multi-platform support: Supports browser PWA desktop apps, native macOS apps, Android TV apps, and iOS Scripting integration.
- Zero-dependency data service: Built-in Node proxy aggregates public data endpoints with memory caching, requiring no external dependencies.
Architecture and Data Sources¶
The frontend is built with React 19, Vite, and TypeScript, and uses Tailwind CSS for styling.
The system adopts a “unified client quote center” model. src/lib/market.ts fetches quote snapshots in batches every 5 seconds and distributes them to each panel, ensuring that quotes for the same instrument remain consistent across all views. The backend service includes a Node proxy that aggregates seven data sources, including Tencent Finance, Sina Finance, East Money, Wall Street Insights, Binance, and OpenRouter.
The server caches quote data for 5 seconds and industry members for 24 hours, using an LRU strategy to manage memory capacity. When the built-in proxy is unavailable, the system degrades gracefully, and some endpoints (such as Tencent Finance and Wall Street Insights) can fall back to browser direct access.
Typical Usage¶
- Online demo: Access the demo directly in a browser; no API Key is required: https://mrd.hermes.cc.cd
- Desktop app: Install the page as a desktop app from the browser address bar.
- iOS Scripting: Integrate the script (
scriptable/) in the iOS Scripting app and add the?tv=1parameter to enable TV mode.
Use Cases and Notes¶
This plugin is suitable for scenarios that require high-frequency monitoring of market dynamics, comparative industry analysis, or building financial agents.
Notes:
- The open-source self-hosted version is free and uses the MIT license.
- The hosted version is in preparation, and no pricing or release date has been announced.
- Spot prices are collected by the server once every 4 hours; historical data continues to build up server-side, and the frontend being offline does not affect historical accumulation.
- Sensitive credentials are stored in a private repository; this project contains only the mrd product code.
- The frontend prefers the bundled Node proxy and supports browser direct access when it is unavailable.
Conclusion¶
The Market Research Cockpit uses a built-in data proxy and frontend aggregation to provide developers with a market data acquisition solution that avoids frequent API Key configuration. For more details, refer to the project directory: [catalog_url]
