Foreword

When using DeepSeek Harness (DSH), you may encounter issues such as corrupted conversation history, typos, or useless conversations accumulating in the sidebar. Since the web interface usually only supports archiving or hiding, thoroughly cleaning up these sessions can be difficult, leaving behind workspace bookkeeping and cache files. The pepsi-ai/dsh-session-delete plugin solves this problem by adding a deletion entry point in the UI.

Plugin Introduction

This plugin is a tool for safely and completely deleting sessions in the DeepSeek Harness UI. It is maintained by pepsi-ai and released under the MIT License. It not only provides a visual deletion entry point, but also supports operation through Agent tools.

Core Features

  • UI Entry Point Enhancement: Adds a trash can button above the session; injects a “Delete session” item into the “…” menu on each session line in the sidebar.
  • Risk Confirmation: Provides a RiskConfirmation dialog, requiring a confirmation checkbox to be checked before deletion.
  • Cleanup Chain: During deletion, it synchronously cleans up the session directory, projection cache, and workspace bookkeeping to ensure consistency between in-memory and on-disk states.
  • Agent Tool: Provides the workbench_session_delete tool, allowing the Agent to directly invoke session deletion.

Installation and Enablement

Installing the plugin requires specifying a profile. After installation, the profile must be restarted for the changes to take effect.

dsh plugin --profile <profile> add @pepsi-ai/dsh-plugin-session-delete

Typical Usage

  • Manual Deletion: Directly click the trash can icon above the session, or click the “Delete session” option in the “…” menu on a session line in the sidebar.
  • Agent Deletion: The Agent can call the workbench_session_delete tool during a workflow to delete a specified session.

Applicable Scenarios and Caveats

  • Confirmation Mechanism: A confirmation dialog appears before deletion, and the relevant checkbox must be selected to continue.
  • Running Sessions: If a session is currently running, it will be stopped before deletion.
  • Permissions and Sources: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. Please inspect the source code and license by yourself.
  • Compatibility: In theory, it is compatible with all web-based wrapper clients.

Summary

This tool solves the problem of difficult thorough cleanup of sessions in DSH, maintaining a clean workspace through both visual and tool-based approaches. For more details, visit the community directory or review the source code on GitHub.
