The core philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” When developing agents in a Web environment, the default interface often lacks deep integration with the file system and Git operations. The dsh-vscode-shell plugin recreates VS Code’s layout and interactions, building a fully featured workbench inside the DSH Web interface.
This plugin is developed by maintainer lonebone. It replaces the default DSH Web interface with a VS Code-style workbench. Its core features include the Activity Bar, File Explorer, Source Control panel, and editor tabs, with all operations driven by real file system and Git interfaces.
Core Features¶
- Interface Layout: Includes the Activity Bar, File Explorer, Source Control (Git) panel, and editor tabs. The interface supports a dark workbench color scheme; sidebar and panel widths can be adjusted by dragging, and it follows DSH’s light/dark tokens.
- File Operations: In the File Explorer, after selecting a file, press F5 to copy the relative path, F6 to copy the absolute path, or reveal the file in the system file explorer.
- Git Management: Provides a full Git panel with support for viewing branches, grouped file changes, and per-file or batch staging/unstaging/discarding changes/adding to .gitignore (using inline buttons
+,-,↶,#). Press Ctrl+Enter to commit changes. - Multilingual Support: Interface prompts and copy follow DSH’s language setting (Chinese / English).
Installation and Enablement¶
dsh plugin --profile web add github:lonebone/dsh-vscode-shell
After installation, restart dsh web and refresh the page for the changes to take effect.
Typical Usage¶
- Install the plugin and restart
dsh web. - Click Explorer in the left Activity Bar to browse the local file tree.
- Select a file and press F5 or F6 to quickly copy its path.
- Click Source Control to review changes, use the inline buttons to handle staging or committing, and finally press Ctrl+Enter in the commit message box to complete the commit.
Requirements and Security Boundaries¶
- Environment Requirements: Requires DSH 0.1.0-rc.6 or later, and the
gitcommand line must be available in the system PATH to use Source Control features. - Security Boundaries: The plugin does not register model tools or directly read/write user files. It mounts two HTTP routes,
/vscode-fsand/vscode-git, for frontend use. These API parameters are absolute paths, and the default deployment is local-only. If you expose DSH Web to the public internet, add authentication yourself.
Ecosystem Background¶
This plugin is part of the DSH ecosystem. Community directories (such as skillhub.cn) provide plugin discovery and hosting services, with no official affiliation to DeepSeek / High-Flyer.
The plugin provides a familiar operating experience for scenarios requiring code development in the Web interface, allowing file browsing and Git interactions without switching to a local IDE. The project source code is available on GitHub, and the license is MIT.
