When processing local files in DeepSeek Harness Web, there is usually a disconnect point: after copying files in macOS Finder, the clipboard stores a native file list rather than plain-text paths. Because of browser security isolation, the editor cannot directly obtain absolute paths to the local file system. The dsh-paste-path plugin reads native macOS clipboard data and passes file paths directly to the editor without triggering browser permission dialogs or uploading files.

Plugin Overview

This plugin is a macOS client extension for DeepSeek Harness. It uses osascript to read the file list data in the clipboard (NSFilenamesPboardType) and inserts absolute paths into the draft via Ctrl+V when the editor prompt appears. It does not modify normal text paste behavior (Cmd+V), nor does it open or upload files in any way.

Installation and Activation

Install the plugin using the official command:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-paste-path

After installation, you must restart the dsh web service and refresh the page to activate the plugin.

Usage

  1. Select one or more files or folders in macOS Finder and press Cmd+C to copy them.
  2. Return to the DSH Web interface.
  3. When the editor prompt shows “Ctrl+V Paste path,” press Ctrl+V.
  4. The plugin inserts the absolute paths of the selected items into the current draft, with one path per line.

The plugin automatically skips duplicate paths that already exist in the draft.

Notes

  • Platform limitation: This plugin is only supported on the macOS platform.
  • Network environment: The clipboard endpoint only accepts loopback connections. Therefore, in remote DSH deployment scenarios (for example, when accessed via a public hostname or LAN IP), the plugin cannot provide local paths because a 403 error is returned.
  • Permissions: macOS may deny osascript access due to Automation permission restrictions. You need to manually grant the relevant permissions.
  • Behavior: The plugin only passes path strings; it does not upload file contents or cache HTTP responses.
