Introduction¶
One of the core ideas of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin”. When developing locally or building agent workflows, developers often need to handle Git changes, manage branches, browse code, track plans, and connect to GitHub for collaboration. These operations are usually scattered across different plugin panels, increasing the burden of context switching. The dsh-git-nexus plugin aims to solve this problem by consolidating SCM change management, branch operations, GitHub authentication, Workflow board, and file browsing into a single independent Web panel.
Plugin Introduction¶
dsh-git-nexus is an open-source community plugin maintained by JFWaskin and licensed under MIT. It integrates Git management (SCM changes panel + branch management), GitHub access, Workflow tracking board, and file browsing features that might otherwise require multiple plugins, into one self-contained Web plugin.
Core Features¶
This plugin provides the following verified capabilities:
- SCM Change Management: View workspace status, per-file diffs, stage/unstage/discard changes, and commit.
- Branch Operations: List, switch, create, and delete.
- Remote Sync: Supports Push, Pull, Sync (Pull then Push), and Fetch.
- Commit Log: Provides structured commit history with boundary limits.
- File Browsing: Lists tracked files, supports search, and can read any text file.
- Workflow Board: Provides a persistent steps board (Claude Code style plan tracking).
- GitHub Integration: Uses OAuth Device Flow login (grants full
reposcope, revocable), supports Scope Seal, and can create PRs.
Installation and Enablement¶
Installing the plugin requires mounting a local path to DSH.
dsh plugin --profile web add "file:/absolute/path/to/dsh-git-nexus"
After installation, restart the Web Profile to load the plugin:
dsh web
The plugin appears in Settings → Plugins, and displays the corresponding panel capsule in the workspace session header for Git management.
Typical Usage¶
Configure GitHub integration in the Web panel:
- Click the GitHub tab in the panel and click Connect.
- On GitHub, go to Settings → Developer settings → OAuth Apps → New OAuth App.
- Fill in the application name, homepage, and callback URL (Device Flow ignores the callback setting, so it can be entered arbitrarily).
- Copy the generated Client ID and paste it into the input field in the plugin panel.
- Return to the plugin panel, click Connect, open the URL printed in the terminal, and enter the user code to complete authorization.
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
The plugin was developed for the DSH 0.1.0-rc.6 Web Profile. As a community plugin published under the dsh-plugin topic, please verify its source code and license before use.
Security and Execution Details:
* GitHub authentication uses OAuth Device Flow and does not write long-lived Personal Access Tokens (PATs) to disk.
* Every Git or file command is executed in a separate /bin/sh -c child process, with a 30-second timeout and a 2 MB output limit.
* Branch names, paths, and commit messages are Shell escaped, and control characters are rejected.
* The GitHub Token is stored only in ~/.dsh/storages/dsh-git-nexus/settings.json, with permissions set to 0600.
Conclusion¶
dsh-git-nexus integrates the full Git lifecycle management, GitHub operations, and Workflow tracking into a single panel, making it suitable for developers who need to maintain contextual coherence in the DSH Web interface. For more details, refer to the project directory or GitHub repository.
