Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) follows the design philosophy of “everything is a plugin.” Its CLI tools are typically integrated with specific runtime environments or protocols. When you need to expose DSH’s reasoning capabilities directly to Multica, a bridge layer that conforms to a specific JSONL process protocol is required. dsh-profile-multica, as an installable community package, fulfills this role by turning the official DSH CLI into a JSONL stream that Multica can recognize.

Core Features

This plugin adds the following capabilities to DSH through a dedicated multica profile:

  • Added commands: Adds three new command-line options: --probe, --list-models, and --stdio.
  • Model discovery: The --list-models command projects the currently installed DSH providers, models, and reasoning levels.
  • Event streaming: The --stdio mode accepts execution requests and streams Agent and Session events in JSONL format.
  • Request cancellation: Supports canceling in-flight requests.

Installation and Activation

Before installing, make sure your environment meets the following requirements:

  • Node.js version ^22.19.0 or >=24.0.0
  • @deepseek-ai/dsh version 0.1.0-rc.7 or a compatible later prerelease version
  • pnpm included in your PATH so that dsh plugin can be invoked

To install the plugin, use the official CLI command:

dsh plugin --profile multica add dsh-profile-multica

After installation, you can verify that the plugin is active by running the following command:

dsh --profile multica --probe

Typical Usage

1. Probing and Model Listing

The --probe command is used to print the discovery frames used by Multica. The --list-models command is used to view the list of currently configured available models:

dsh --profile multica --probe
dsh --profile multica --list-models

2. Execution Requests and Event Streams

The --stdio command is the core execution entry point. It accepts a version 1 execution request, streams events over stdout, and outputs diagnostics over stderr.

Before use, configure the following environment variables:

  • MULTICA_DSH_SESSION_ROOT: Selects the JSONL persistence directory.
  • DSH_PERMISSION_MODE: Sets the permission mode. Options include read-only (read-only), workspace-write (workspace write, default), or danger-full-access (full access).

Because the protocol does not support interactive approval rounds, you must select a permission mode that aligns with the current environment policy before execution.

Use Cases and Notes

  • One process, one request: The protocol limits each process to accepting only one execution request. When Multica processes tasks, it must start a fresh process for each task.
  • No interactive approval: The protocol does not include an approval-response mechanism. If an operation exceeds the scope of the selected policy, the operation will fail immediately rather than waiting for manual approval.
  • Model-discovery fault tolerance: During model discovery, if a provider fails, the plugin prints its error message to stderr and then continues processing the remaining providers without interrupting the overall flow.
  • API version tracking: This package tracks prerelease DSH APIs. If DSH releases a new prerelease version, you may need to wait for the plugin to release a corresponding matching version.

Summary

If you need to directly leverage DeepSeek Harness’s capabilities within Multica, dsh-profile-multica provides a lightweight JSONL protocol-based bridging solution. It integrates DSH with Multica through a standard command-line interface and streaming event transport.
