Introduction¶
The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) plugin ecosystem supports running agents in the browser. When a local session requires a more secure execution environment, or when a developer leaves their computer, traditional plugins often require local processes to remain running. The Blaxel sandbox plugin provides a solution: it moves Git-backed conversations and their workspaces to an independent private cloud host, enabling execution to continue offline.
Plugin Positioning¶
blaxel-ai/deepseek-harness-blaxel-sandbox is a plugin that provides remote sandbox execution capabilities for DeepSeek Harness. It is maintained by blaxel-ai, belongs to the admin-security category, and is designed to address local offline scenarios, environment isolation, and session migration.
Core Features¶
- Cloud migration and offline execution: Moves Git-backed conversations to a private cloud host, continuing model requests and tool calls when the original computer is offline.
- Context preservation: Preserves native conversation history, image references, and sub-session history in the cloud.
- File conflict handling: Handles file edits and merge conflicts when returning to local, and generates recovery patches.
Installation and Setup¶
Before installation, ensure that DeepSeek Harness is installed and that Node.js and Git are available in the local environment. Install the plugin into the DSH Web profile:
npx --yes --package @blaxel/dsh-sandbox@latest dsh-blaxel plugin --profile web add \
--allow-build=@deepseek-ai/dsh-subprocess-local \
--allow-build=koffi \
--allow-build=node-pty \
--allow-build=@google/genai \
--allow-build=protobufjs \
@blaxel/dsh-sandbox@latest
After installation, start the Web interface:
npx --yes --package @blaxel/dsh-sandbox@latest dsh-blaxel web
Typical Usage¶
- Migration: Select “Move to Blaxel” in an existing Git-backed conversation. The system checkpoints after the current tool task completes.
- Access: Once the cloud environment is ready, copy the private link to access the session from another device.
- Return: Select “Move back to local” in the local DSH interface, review file changes and patches, and then apply them.
Use Cases and Notes¶
- Use cases: Scenarios that require cross-device session access, continued work when local devices are offline, or more strictly isolated secure execution.
- Notes:
- Local model endpoints and OAuth authorizations cannot be transferred.
- Blaxel authentication remains on the host side.
- Git ignored files and credential files (such as
.envand private keys) are not included in the snapshot. - If a remote operation fails, it does not fall back to local execution.
- Plugin version 0.1.3 requires host DSH version 0.1.2-rc.1.
Conclusion¶
By providing clear “move” and “return” workflows, this plugin fills the gap in the DSH ecosystem for remote execution capabilities.
