Below is an introduction to dsh-trend-radar. This is a network-connected tool designed to provide a “market dashboard” for the DSH plugin ecosystem. It addresses a specific problem: existing markets and catalogs are static views of the “current moment” and lack analysis of trends (new entries, growth, and popularity).

Core Features

This plugin provides the following capabilities:

  1. Local Historical Snapshots: Saves dsh-plugin topics and the awesome-dsh-plugin inclusion list to local history records.
  2. Trend Analysis: Generates weekly reports, including new plugins, star gains leaderboard, category popularity, and awesome inclusion coverage.
  3. Keyword Radar: Monitors new plugins and star surges.
  4. Experimental Web Dashboard: Overlays dashboard data above the session input box (currently in experimental stage).

Installation and Enablement

The installation command is as follows:

dsh plugin --profile <profile> add dsh-trend-radar

Note: Replace <profile> in the installation command with the actual profile name.

Typical Usage

After installation, you can use the core features with the following commands:

  1. Snapshot Collection:
Run trend_snapshot to capture the current state. By default, if the time since the last snapshot has not exceeded staleHours (default is 1 hour), it will skip collection. To force collection, use force: true.

  2. Weekly Report Generation:
Run trend_report to analyze historical data. This command supports the days parameter to specify the time window and supports the keywords parameter for filtering.

  3. Subscription Monitoring:
Run trend_watch to subscribe to keywords and star surges. It supports the add, remove, list, and check subcommands.

Configuration Options

Key Default Value Description
dataDir .dsh/trends Storage directory for snapshots and subscriptions (relative to the current working directory of the host filesystem).
staleHours 1 Snapshot freshness window (hours).
surgeStars 20 Star surge threshold for the radar.
githubTokenEnv `` Optional. The environment variable name for a GitHub token. Setting a token can increase API rate limits (anonymous API is 60 requests/hour).
sectionOrder 5 Prompt section order.

Data and Limitations

  • Data Storage: Data is stored in the local .dsh/trends directory in JSONL format.
  • GitHub API: The anonymous GitHub API rate limit is 60 requests/hour.
  • Web UI: The Web UI dashboard is currently experimental and is on the roadmap.
  • Permissions: The plugin only uses read-only public APIs to access data and writes data to the local data directory. It does not involve sensitive information.

Notes

The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. Before installation, please review the source code and license.
