Introduction¶
When using DeepSeek Harness Web (dsh web), the assistant often generates files in its replies, and they are displayed in the “Produces” line. By default, clicking these file chips usually opens the file directly. The dsh-reveal-files plugin changes this behavior by adding a compact dropdown menu to each file chip, providing actions such as opening the file, copying the path, revealing it in the file browser, and opening the terminal directory, without requiring additional tool configuration.
Plugin Overview¶
The plugin is maintained by yumm007 and licensed under the MIT License. It primarily addresses the need in agentic development to quickly perform common filesystem operations on generated files, such as viewing, copying the path, and navigating to the directory in a terminal. By clicking a file chip, users can choose an action directly instead of opening the file immediately.
Core Features¶
- Dropdown menu interaction: Clicking a file chip opens a compact menu instead of opening the file directly.
- Open file: Opens the file using the system default application.
- Copy file path: Copies the absolute file path to the clipboard.
- Reveal in file browser: Opens the file location in the system native file manager (Finder on macOS, a file manager on Linux, Explorer on Windows).
- Open directory in terminal: Opens the preferred system terminal and automatically
cds to the directory containing the file. - Localization support: Menu labels follow the UI language (Simplified Chinese / English).
- Zero runtime dependencies: No additional runtime dependencies beyond Harness itself.
Environment Requirements¶
- DeepSeek Harness Web (
dsh web). - Node.js >= 22.6.0.
- A desktop environment (always available on macOS and Windows; Linux requires a display server or WSL).
Installation and Enablement¶
Install the plugin using the following command. After installation, restart dsh web for the changes to take effect.
dsh plugin --profile web add github:yumm007/dsh-reveal-files#main
After installation, the plugin is loaded when the Web server starts and registers the corresponding routes and frontend components.
Typical Usage¶
- Ask the assistant to generate a file (any reply that contains
writeoredittool results). - Find the “Produces” line below the reply and click a file chip.
- Choose an action from the dropdown menu (open, copy path, reveal in file browser, open directory in terminal).
Configuration Notes¶
The plugin accepts configuration in cordis.patch.yml. By default, the plugin is enabled.
- insert:
- id: dsh-reveal-files
name: 'dsh-reveal-files'
config:
enabled: true # 注册文件操作路由(默认为 true)
revealTimeoutMs: 10000 # 单个命令超时时间(毫秒,默认 10000)
To override the default configuration, modify the Profile’s cordis.patch.yml.
Notes¶
- The plugin runs with the permissions of the current
dshprocess. On Linux, if the current environment has no display server or is not using WSL, the file browser functionality will not work. - Error messages (for example, sandbox denial or unsupported platform) are displayed in red text inside the opened menu.
- On the host side, the plugin only uses
node:child_process; on the client side, it only uses React, with no additional runtime dependencies.
Summary¶
dsh-reveal-files simplifies interaction with generated files by introducing a dropdown menu in DeepSeek Harness’s “Produces” line. For developers who need to view or further edit local files, it is an efficiency-improving tool.
