During the use of DeepSeek Harness (DSH), the Web interface serves as the primary entry point for debugging and monitoring. Day-to-day development often requires frequent switching between the terminal and browser to perform operations such as restarting, stopping, or updating services. The wiyi/dsh-web-service-manager plugin provides these capabilities through a settings panel, making Web service management more intuitive.
Plugin Overview¶
This plugin is maintained by the developer wiyi and belongs to the admin-security category. It is essentially a service management panel that allows users to check service status, perform version checks, restart services, stop services, and perform one-click updates without opening a terminal.
Installation and Enablement¶
Installing this plugin requires using the DSH plugin management command, with the target profile set to web:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:wiyi/dsh-web-service-manager
After installation is complete, please restart the Web service once, and then open Settings → DSH Web Service.
Core Features¶
- Status Panel: The settings panel displays the service’s real-time running status, current version number, listening port, Process ID (PID), and session uptime.
- Restart Service: The plugin first launches a replacement instance in a separate process session, then retires the current process. This mechanism ensures that the new service is not affected when the old process performs graceful cleanup (SIGTERM → fiber dispose), allowing it to remain alive.
- Stop Service: Terminates the current service while closing the GUI window containing the panel.
- Version Check: Compares the currently running version against the npm registry to confirm whether an update is available.
- Update and Restart: Uses
npxto pull the latest@deepseek-ai/dshpackage and automatically restarts the service.
Usage Examples¶
- If you need to restart the service, you can execute the command in the terminal, and then open Settings → DSH Web Service to check the status changes.
- After performing restart or update operations, wait for the new instance to take over the port; you must manually refresh the browser page to load the new version.
Considerations¶
- Impact of Stopping the Service: Clicking stop will terminate the current service and close the GUI window you are using. To restart it, you need to run
npx @deepseek-ai/dsh webin the terminal. - Refresh After Operations: After a restart or update is complete, make sure to refresh the page and wait for the new instance to take over the port.
- Permissions and Source Code: Installing a plugin means running third-party code with your privileges. This plugin involves stopping, starting, and updating service processes, so be sure to read the source code before deploying it in a critical environment.
Summary¶
This plugin simplifies the operational workflow for Web services by providing a panel-based interface. For more plugin details, please visit the Plugin Directory or the GitHub Repository.
