Introduction¶
The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin”, and the theme system is also integrated in the form of plugins. dsh-theme-blackhole is a custom theme plugin for the DSH Web UI. It provides a visual style rather than core functional logic.
Plugin Overview¶
- Plugin name:
dsh-theme-blackhole - Maintainer: jiangwangyang
- Category: Fun reskin
- Positioning: A Web UI theme plugin that provides a WebGL Schwarzschild black hole background and deep-space glass panel colors.
Core Features¶
This plugin includes the following capabilities:
- WebGL Schwarzschild black hole background: Uses null-geodesic (zero geodesic) ray tracing to render gravitational lensing, the accretion disk, and photon rings, with a slow automatic camera orbit.
- Deep-space glass panels: Through translucent dark design token overrides and background blur, the black hole background subtly appears behind the content, while the brand accent color becomes the amber of the accretion disk.
- First-class theme support: Registers with the theme runtime. The toggle in the settings row is bidirectionally synchronized with the appearance settings. Switching is persisted, and the default theme does not flash on startup.
- Performance-friendly fallback: Uses half-resolution rendering and a 30 fps frame-rate limit, and respects the system’s reduced-motion preference. If WebGL is unavailable, it automatically falls back to a pure black deep-space background.
Installation and Enablement¶
Before installing, ensure the current DSH process has web service permissions. This plugin only supports profiles that include a web server.
- Install the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:jiangwangyang/dsh-theme-blackhole
- Enable the theme:
After installation and startup, go to Settings > General > Theme - Blackhole.
Typical Usage¶
After enabling this theme, its behavior is as follows:
- On: Switches to the black hole theme. The toggle state is persisted and remains effective after a page refresh or restart.
- Off: Restores the previous built-in theme (light/dark/follow system). The original appearance preference is not overwritten.
- Consistency maintenance: If you switch back to a built-in theme in the appearance settings row, the plugin’s internal toggle is automatically set to “off” to ensure consistency between the two settings.
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
- Profile dependency: This plugin depends on the
webServerservice of a web profile and is only suitable for profiles that include a web server (for example, thewebprofile). Do not install it into a headless profile. - License: Open-sourced under the MIT license; please comply with the relevant terms when using it.
Conclusion¶
Through WebGL rendering technology, dsh-theme-blackhole brings a visually striking background effect to the DSH Web UI while maintaining good performance and tight integration with the theme system. If you want to display a more technical or science-fiction visual style in a web interface, this is a ready-to-use theme solution.
