Installation

The plugin core is cross-platform, but it is recommended to use the provided scripts for environment setup.

1. Official Installation Command

If you have already installed DSH manually, you can install this plugin from the command line:

dsh plugin --profile web add /path/to/dsh-0-tools

2. One-click Installation Script

Users on Windows, macOS, and Linux can directly run the corresponding installation script:

  • Windows: Double-click install.bat to run it. The script automatically detects the environment, installs DSH if it is missing, and creates a “DeepSeek Harness” shortcut on the desktop after successful installation.
  • macOS / Linux: Run chmod +x install.sh && ./install.sh in the terminal.

Note: Windows may display a SmartScreen warning saying “Windows protected your PC.” This usually happens because the script is unsigned. Click “More info → Run anyway” to continue.

Usage Steps

Step 1: Open the DSH Interface

After running the installation script, double-click the “DeepSeek Harness” shortcut created on the desktop. The browser will open the DSH web interface. If no models have been configured, a guided popup will appear automatically.

Step 2: Configure a Free Model

Click the “Configure Free Models” button in the lower-left corner of the interface to open the configuration center. Click the “Tutorial” link on any model card, then follow the illustrated steps to register and obtain an API key (for iFlytek, include both the APIKey and APISecret).

Step 3: One-click Installation

Paste the obtained API key into the input field labeled “Paste any model API key here and it will be automatically recognized,” then click the “Auto-detect the API key and install a free model in one click” button. The system will automatically identify the key type and complete the configuration.

Step 4: Use and Speed Testing

After configuration, switch to the model in the lower-left corner of the DSH interface to start using it. The plugin automatically begins background speed testing. If the current model times out, the bottom of the sidebar will show a real-time suggestion for which model to switch to.

Step 5: Use Paid Models

If you need to use the official DeepSeek model, click “Settings” in the lower-left corner of the interface, go to the “Models” tab, edit the DeepSeek model, and enter your API key. At this time, the interface will show a full-price or half-price notice based on the weekday peak and off-peak periods.
