When handling long-running tasks in DeepSeek Harness (DSH), it is common to encounter requests submitted all at once that are very large. The agent starts working immediately, without planning or clear acceptance criteria. dsh-goal-scaffold acts as a gate, intercepting these requests before the agent executes them and asking the user whether to plan first.
This is a DSH plugin developed by zriyox that detects very large one-shot requests. It asks the user whether to plan first, then scaffolds plan.md and a bounded goal before the agent starts working.
Core Features¶
- Intercept large requests and ask: Detects very large one-shot requests and opens an interactive prompt.
- Interactive decision: Provides three options (Plan first / Start now / Do not ask again this session), with the user making the decision.
- Automatic documentation: Generates a
plan.mdwith an acceptance checklist and creates a bounded goal. - Execution tracking: The agent executes items one by one and checks off completion status in real time.
- Session limit: Triggers only once per session to avoid repeated interruptions.
- Environment compatibility: Supports headless mode (does not block messages).
- Message filtering: Applies only to human messages; tool injection or driver-driven continuation does not trigger it.
- Configurability: The minimum message length for detection and additional scope phrases can be configured.
Installation and Enablement¶
Install the plugin using the official command.
dsh plugin --profile web add github:zriyox/dsh-goal-scaffold
Enable it and adjust behavior through the YAML configuration.
- id: goal-scaffold
config:
enabled: true # 主开关
minLength: 80 # 参与检测的最小消息长度
extraSignals: ['迁移'] # 额外的(不区分大小写)范围短语
Typical Usage¶
When you enter a vague large task (for example, “build me a complete task management system”), the system opens a prompt.
- Select “Plan first” (recommended).
- After the request is submitted, the agent is instructed to first write
plan.md(with verifiable acceptance criteria for each item) and create a bounded goal. - The agent displays the plan, then executes items one by one and checks the checkboxes.
Use Cases and Notes¶
This plugin is suitable for large, complex tasks that require structured planning.
- Session limit: It triggers at most once per session. After choosing any option or selecting “Do not ask again this session,” it will not trigger again until a new session starts.
- Headless mode: In headless mode (for example, the
headlessprofile), there is no user question channel, so messages pass through directly and are not blocked. - Message scope: It applies only to human messages; goal-driver continuations, plugin injections, and tool outputs do not trigger detection.
- Cancel behavior: If the user cancels the pop-up and enters something else, the original message is still sent as normal.
The plugin runs with the current DSH process permissions. It is recommended to check the source code and license before installing.
