Introduction

When developing or debugging with DeepSeek Harness (DSH), if multiple model providers are configured, the model selector list in the Composer interface can become very long, requiring frequent scrolling to find a specific model.

dsh-collapsible-models is a DSH client plugin that modifies the model selector interaction to make these long lists easier to manage.

Plugin Introduction

This is a DSH client plugin maintained by developer ZhenXifu.

Its core purpose is to enable collapsing and expanding for provider groups in the Composer model selector.

Core Mechanism

The plugin takes over the model selection slot by registering a shadow entry with priority -1, replacing the default display logic without touching the underlying data layer (using the shipped modelDirectories service). If the host environment does not have a shipped model selection plugin, the plugin loads but does not register anything.

Installation and Enablement

Install command:

dsh plugin add dsh-collapsible-models

Remove command:

dsh plugin remove dsh-collapsible-models

After installation, restart Harness. The new slot takes effect the next time the client is generated.

Usage and Behavior

  • Interaction: Click any provider row in the model dropdown to collapse or expand the model list under that group. A triangular indicator next to the provider name rotates to show the current state.
  • Keyboard Navigation: The list header is a real <button> element, supporting keyboard navigation and focus toggling.
  • Accessibility and Language: Supports the aria-expanded state and adjusts labels according to the current locale (zh/en).
  • State Persistence: All provider groups start expanded by default (matching the default UI). The collapsed state is only retained while the dropdown is open; the plugin intentionally does not persist this state.

The plugin is written using the lazy-CJS client package protocol and requires no build step. It depends on the following DSH client modules:
