Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts a plugin-based architecture, enabling users to extend custom capabilities beyond core features. The default text appearance settings (native color picker version) are basic. The dsh-text-appearance plugin addresses this limitation by providing more fine-grained style control for developers or users with higher expectations for reading experience.
Plugin Overview¶
This plugin is maintained by user zhuyoujie-2025 and is released under the MIT license. It is designed to replace the built-in “Text Appearance” settings, allowing users to separately adjust the font, color, and font size for “Thinking Content” and “Main Output” in “Settings → General”.
Core Features¶
Font Settings¶
The plugin supports multiple font choices to accommodate different reading habits:
* Default font
* System font
* Microsoft YaHei
* PingFang
* SimSun
* SimHei
* KaiTi
* Georgia serif
* Consolas monospace
Color Adjustment¶
Color adjustment uses the HSL (hue, saturation, lightness) model and is implemented with three sliders:
* Hue bar: Choose the basic color tone.
* Saturation bar: Adjust between grayscale and full color.
* Lightness bar: Adjust the depth/brightness of the color (black ↔ white).
The adjustment process is continuous and smooth, with a color swatch on the left providing real-time preview, supporting black/white/gray, full-color, and light/dark changes.
Font Size Adjustment¶
A 12–28px font-size slider is provided, allowing users to adjust text size according to their preference.
Installation and Activation¶
Install it with the official command-line tool:
dsh plugin add <本目录或 git 仓库地址>
After installation, the plugin configuration is persistently saved to localStorage and works in both browser and Electron desktop versions.
Typical Usage¶
- Open DeepSeek Harness.
- Go to “Settings → General”.
- Find the “Thinking Content” and “Main Output” settings separately.
- Use the sliders to adjust color and font size, or choose a font from the dropdown list.
Notes¶
- Replacement relationship: This plugin replaces the built-in “Text Appearance” settings (native color picker version).
- Conflict handling: If the old “Text Appearance” setting is also displayed in the environment, you can try removing the
ThinkingColorRowregistration in theui-themeplugin to resolve the display conflict. - Implementation approach: The plugin injects styles via CSS overrides and does not rely on modifying official code. Specifically, it locates thinking content with
[data-variant="think"]and the main body with[class*="_markdown"].
Ecosystem Background¶
The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) plugin ecosystem is maintained by the community and is not directly affiliated with DeepSeek or the official High-Flyer (Huanfang) organization. The plugin directory and repositories are hosted on community sites and GitHub.
