Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) extends its functionality through a plugin mechanism. Managing MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers usually requires manually editing configuration files, which is both tedious and error-prone. As a community Bundle, mcp-deliverable adds a visual MCP server management entry to DSH’s Web Settings → Plugins, while also providing remote control capabilities.

What Is This

mcp-deliverable is a community-maintained Bundle that can be installed directly into a DeepSeek Harness profile. It is maintained by user zhuyan1085. Its core purpose is to address maintenance issues related to MCP server configuration. Through the Web interface and remote control capabilities, it makes reading and writing configuration files, managing them, and checking their status more automated and atomic.

Core Features

This plugin provides the following main capabilities:

  • Host Remote: The plugin can read, atomically write to, and delete the MCP configuration for the current profile. It also displays the registration status of the Loader and tools, which is convenient for debugging.
  • Web Settings Page: Provides interface-based editing capabilities and supports configuring stdio and Streamable HTTP servers. Editable parameters include arguments, environment variables, working directory, request headers, call timeout, startup failure strategy, and reconnection strategy.
  • Self-Contained Build: Includes self-contained Typert descriptors and browser artifacts. When installed from GitHub, it runs the repository’s prepare script to build and does not depend on an adjacent Harness source checkout directory.
  • Automatic Patch Integration: Through the dsh.bundle.patch mechanism, it automatically adds the plugin layer into the target profile’s cordis.patch.yml.

Installation and Enablement

Before installing, ensure that the environment meets the Node.js version requirements (^22.19.0 or >=24.0.0).

Run the following command to install:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:zhuyan1085/mcp-deliverable

After installation, restart the corresponding profile.

Note: If using pnpm 10 or later, installation may fail due to build script execution permission issues. If installation fails, follow the prompt to add the corresponding allowBuilds configuration to the profile’s pnpm-workspace.yaml, then rerun the installation command.

For production use, it is recommended to lock a specific commit SHA to ensure environment consistency:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:zhuyan1085/mcp-deliverable#COMMIT_SHA

Typical Usage

  • Configuration Management: When the plugin starts normally through dsh, it automatically writes the configuration into the current profile’s cordis.patch.yml. For embedded or test runs, you can explicitly specify an absolute path:
    - id: mcp-servers
      config:
        patchFile: /absolute/path/to/cordis.patch.yml
  • Local Verification and Packaging: In a DeepSeek Harness checkout directory where dependencies are already installed, run the following commands to verify and package:
    DSH_CHECKOUT=/absolute/path/to/deepseek-harness bash scripts/verify.sh
    pnpm run build
    pnpm pack

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

  • Bundle Priority: Bundle-layer applications take precedence over the user’s own cordis.patch.yml, so the user can still override or disable this plugin using id: mcp-servers.
  • Security Note: Literal env and headers values are readable in the browser, assuming the client supports trusted host settings. Sensitive information should continue to use !!js expressions supported by environment variables instead of being written directly as literals.
  • License: This plugin is licensed under the MIT License.

Closing Note

mcp-deliverable simplifies the MCP server configuration process in DeepSeek Harness through its Web interface and remote control capabilities. For more technical details and updates, refer to the GitHub repository.
