Introduction

Theme and Background

Rain Quality Settings

“Rain effects” provides three levels that can be toggled here:
1. Full: Full effect, including a high-density character wall, character churn, cursor spotlight, and 3D tilt.
2. Lite: Performance-optimized mode. Grid density is halved, character churn and cursor spotlight are removed, and fading columns are removed. 3D tilt and the white cell effect are retained.
3. Off: Turn off the background, retaining only the green color palette.

Persistence

The rain quality preference is persisted to the browser localStorage under the key dsh-matrix-theme:rain-quality.

Notes and Use Cases

  • Build permissions: The allowBuilds permission is not required. The lib directory is committed, and there is no prepare script.
  • Deduplication mechanism: The plugin uses append mode and does not perform deduplication. If the host configuration already contains ui-matrix-theme (for example, the default dsh-web-app), installation will fail with the error “duplicate loader entry id”.
  • Intended use: Primarily used for custom browser lists or themes supported before the theme is released.
  • Model experience: None. This plugin only manages browser-side preferences (theme selection and rain quality) and background rendering. Background elements are marked as decorative (aria-hidden) and do not involve model requests.
