In the DeepSeek Harness model selector, manually adjusting the combination of model and reasoning effort is a repetitive task. The DSH Model Presets plugin saves frequently used model configurations as presets, allowing one-click switching from the top of the list by clicking or using keyboard shortcuts.
Plugin Overview¶
This is a DSH plugin maintained by Zding89, designed to manage combinations of model selection and reasoning effort. Each preset records the API provider, model name, and reasoning effort. The plugin uses browser local storage to persist data, ensuring configurations remain available after restarts.
Installation¶
Before installing, make sure your DeepSeek Harness version is 0.1.0-rc.7 or higher. Run the following command:
dsh plugin --profile web add https://github.com/Zding89/dsh-model-presets
After installation, restart DSH Web. Once the plugin is successfully installed, you can also find and enable it in the DSH plugin marketplace.
Core Features¶
- Save Combinations: Records the currently selected model, reasoning effort, and API provider. The same model on different providers is treated as a different combination.
- One-Click Switching: Displays preset names at the top of the model list; clicking a preset applies the corresponding configuration.
- Preset Management: Supports adding, renaming, reordering, and deleting presets.
- Model Search: Supports searching available models in the model selection interface.
- Keyboard Shortcuts: Supports switching among the first nine presets using Alt/Option + 1-9 (disabled while typing in an input field).
Usage Steps¶
- Open the model selector in the chat interface and select the desired model and reasoning effort.
- Click the
+icon at the top of the list to save the current combination as a preset. - Click a preset name to immediately switch the model and reasoning effort.
- Click the
⋯menu next to a preset to rename, reorder, or delete it.
Notes¶
- Data Scope: Presets are saved only in the current browser, are not uploaded, and are not synchronized across browsers, devices, or addresses.
- Storage Limit: Up to 50 presets can be stored.
- Compatibility: Compatible with DeepSeek Harness 0.1.0-rc.7 or later.
- Uninstall Behavior: Uninstalling the plugin does not clear presets already stored in the browser.
- Availability Handling: If the provider or model corresponding to a preset becomes unavailable, the preset name will appear dimmed and will not be clickable; once the provider or model becomes available again, the preset will automatically return to normal.
