DeepSeek Harness (DSH) allows extending agent capabilities via plugins. If you use TomiLite for local task management, this plugin bridges the gap, letting your DSH agent create tasks, read notes, and check stats without leaving the chat interface.

What is it

This is a host-side Cordis plugin for DeepSeek Harness. It registers tools that allow a DSH agent to interact with a locally running TomiLite desktop application.

The plugin communicates with TomiLite via its local API at http://localhost:3192. The agent becomes the “hands” for executing actions, while TomiLite remains your primary workspace.

Prerequisites

Before installing, ensure the following are in place:

  • DeepSeek Harness installed and running (npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web or built from source).
  • TomiLite desktop app running on the same machine. The plugin communicates with its local API on port 3192.
  • Node.js 22.19 or higher.

Installation

Use the standard DSH plugin installation command to add the plugin to your web profile:

dsh plugin --profile web add tomilite-dsh-plugin

After running the command, restart the DSH web UI or CLI process for the changes to take effect.

Configuration

The plugin defaults to connecting to a local TomiLite instance. If you need to override settings or connect to a remote instance, edit your profile’s cordis.patch.yml file:

- id: tomilite
  name: tomilite-dsh-plugin
  config:
baseUrl: http://localhost:3192 # Default for local app
apiToken: '' # Only required for remote instances (Settings → API Keys)
    projectId: proj-default # Default single-user project

For remote instances, you can also set the TOMILITE_API_TOKEN environment variable. If using HTTP for remote connections, the token is sent in plain text.

Core Features

The plugin exposes the following tools to the DSH agent:

  1. Task Management

    • tomilite_list_tasks: List tasks with optional status filters (todo / in_progress / done). Results return compact rows with descriptions truncated to 300 characters.
    • tomilite_create_task: Create a new task (supports title, description, type, priority, and story points).
    • tomilite_update_task: Update existing tasks by modifying status, priority, or description.
  2. Note Management

    • tomilite_list_notes: List knowledge-base notes with optional category filtering. Returns content previews truncated to 500 characters.
    • tomilite_create_note: Create a new note in Markdown format.
  3. Statistics

    • tomilite_get_stats: Retrieve board statistics (counts per status, priority, and type), useful for generating daily reports.

Behavior Notes

  • If TomiLite is not running, the tools will fail with an actionable error message instructing the agent to start the app.
  • Every HTTP call carries a 15-second timeout. This prevents a hung TomiLite instance from stalling the agent’s turn.

Usage & Ecosystem

The agent interacts with these tools through the standard DSH model interface. The plugin follows the tRPC wire format used by TomiLite’s web frontend:
* Reads use GET /api/<router>.<procedure>?input=<urlencoded JSON>
* Mutations use POST /api/<router>.<procedure> with a JSON body

Tool descriptions and result messages are in English. The plugin is categorized under the dsh-plugin topic on GitHub for ecosystem discovery.

Important Notes

  • Developer Preview: DeepSeek Harness is currently in developer preview (rc releases). Plugin APIs may change between releases.
  • Version Pinning: This plugin is pinned to dsh-tools@0.1.0-rc.7.
  • Node.js Requirement: Ensure you are using Node.js 22.19+ as required by the peer dependencies.

Summary

This plugin integrates local task management workflows directly into the DeepSeek Harness agent. By using the standard DSH plugin installation method, you can give your agent the ability to manage your TomiLite workspace instantly.
