The core philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” When developing in the session area, you often need to switch between tools for debugging, HMI, or monitoring tasks. The dsh-vision-bench plugin provides a “Vision mode” for DSH’s session view, integrating Keil debugging, Modbus HMI operations, and real-time monitoring into a single workbench.

Plugin Positioning

dsh-vision-bench is a client-side plugin maintained by developer xingyingyuzhui. It addresses the need to perform embedded debugging, HMI point table management, and real-time monitoring simultaneously in the Session view. The same live device state is supplied to both the UI and the current Session’s agent.

Core Features

The plugin mainly provides the following workspace capabilities:

  • Session-area workbench: In the session-area tabs, provides “Debug”, “HMI”, and “Monitor” views, without interfering with each other.
  • Keil build and flash: Supports .uvprojx projects (.uvmpw is not yet supported). Provides build log viewing (with search), artifact hash verification, OpenOCD flashing confirmation card, and supports the GDB/MI protocol.
  • Modbus RTU read/write and monitoring: Supports Modbus RTU host read/write and slave monitoring. Function codes 01/03 are writable (FC05/06 for single points, FC15/16 for batch), while 02/04 are read-only. After writing, shows the pre-write value, target value, and read-back value.
  • Serial frame subscription and filtering: Subscribes to raw serial streams (RTU records ADUs, TCP displays normalized frames), and provides filtering and viewing functions.
  • Visual charts and alarms: Provides real-time visual charts, alarm management, and operation logs, with CSV import/export for point tables.
  • Agent integration and controlled writes: The agent can invoke the vision_bench tool to perform operations. Sensitive operations such as real writes (coils/registers) and flashing require UI approval.

Install and Enable

Before installing, ensure your DSH version is 0.1.5-rc.1 or higher.

Install in the Web Environment

Use the official plugin command to install:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:xingyingyuzhui/dsh-vision-bench

In a development environment, it is recommended to pack the local package first before installing, to avoid linking node_modules from the source tree:

npm pack
dsh plugin --profile web add ./dsh-vision-bench-*.tgz

After installation, restart dsh web, open the “Debug”, “HMI”, or “Monitor” tab, or go to the Vision page in Settings. When creating a new Session, you can select “Vision mode”.

Desktop Environment Notes

The full installer for the official Desktop version has not yet been published to npmjs.org. The Modbus RTU functionality in the Desktop version is not fully supported yet because serialport is not included in the allowed build list. Integration with Windows 10/11 and real Keil hardware is in acceptance-deferred (DEFERRED) status.

Typical Usage

  1. Debug: In the “Debug” tab, select a Keil project, configure the Target, and click Build. If the build fails, you can view the logs within the app. After confirming there are no errors, approve the firmware flash through the flashing confirmation card.
  2. HMI: In the “HMI” tab, configure a serial or TCP connection, and add devices and points. After starting acquisition, you can view changes in point values.
  3. Monitor: In the “Monitor” tab, configure visualization components (line charts, bar charts, etc.) and subscribe to serial frames.
  4. Agent collaboration: When the agent invokes the write tool in the session, a confirmation card is displayed in the UI. After you approve it, the operation is executed.

Notes

  • Version dependency: Requires DSH 0.1.5-rc.1 or later.
  • Permissions: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. Ensure the installation source is trusted.
  • Feature boundaries: Under Windows, COM ports are exclusively accessed; if in use, PORT_IN_USE is returned. CAN monitoring is not yet implemented.
  • License: MIT License.

Summary

dsh-vision-bench pushes the debugging tools and HMI monitoring capabilities of embedded development down into DSH’s session view. For developers who frequently switch between code, serial debugging, and Modbus interaction, it reduces tool-switching time and provides a more coherent workflow.
