Introduction¶
In DeepSeek Harness (DSH) usage scenarios, the session ID is a key identifier for troubleshooting issues, archiving conversations, and collaborating across sessions. However, the default GUI does not prominently display the current session ID, so it is usually retrieved indirectly through developer tools or the archive panel. The dsh-session-id plugin solves this pain point by persistently displaying the current session ID in the dock area below the composer (input field) and providing click-to-copy functionality.
Plugin Introduction¶
This is a client plugin maintained by xiaozhiaixue, released under the MIT license. It uses the official slot mechanism to inject UI rendering into the composer dock, without modifying any host state or registering HTTP endpoints. It is a pure UI plugin.
Core Features¶
- Persistent display: The current session ID is persistently shown in 11px small text in the bottom dock of the composer.
- One-click copy: Clicking the session ID copies it and triggers a 1.6-second “✓ Copied” feedback with a green highlight.
- Interaction details: Hover highlighting is supported, and
user-select: textis set to allow manual selection. - Smart hiding: When sessionId is empty, the plugin renders no elements.
Installation and Enablement¶
Use the dsh plugin command to install.
dsh plugin --profile web add ./dsh-session-id
Typical Usage¶
After installation, open the DSH GUI. In the dock area below the composer (input field), you can see the current session ID displayed in small text. Click the text directly to copy it to the clipboard.
Notes¶
- Pure UI plugin: It does not touch host state, does not register HTTP endpoints, and carries zero risk and zero permissions.
- Instant copy: It prioritizes the
navigator.clipboardAPI and falls back toexecCommand('copy')if the API is not supported, for compatibility with older browsers. - Implementation: It uses the official
window.__ModuleLoader__.loadstandard loading method and injects rendering through theslots.inject("conversation.composer.dock")slot. It is automatically hidden when there is no session.
