DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is a tool for agent application development. When debugging or writing code, developers may want a low-distraction background element. The dsh-snake plugin renders a Hungry Whale mini-game in the DSH page background, with a blue whale swimming directly over the background without affecting content browsing.

Core Features

This plugin mainly addresses the need for a visual break during development. Its capabilities are as follows:

  • Full-viewport background game: A blue whale swims directly in the DSH page background. The game layer is click-through and does not interfere with existing page operations.
  • Core gameplay: Control the whale to eat golden Tokens.
  • Minimal controls: Only a minimal control capsule remains in the bottom-right corner, without obscuring the main content.
  • Controls: Arrow keys steer the whale; Space starts, pauses, or resumes the game.
  • Non-interfering input: It does not hijack input fields; arrow keys and Space work normally when typing in the chat box.
  • Data persistence: Uses localStorage to save the high score.
  • Theme adaptation: Adapts to light and dark theme backgrounds and uses a responsive grid layout.

Installation and Enablement

Install the plugin using the official command:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:Solicide/dsh-snake

For local development or installing from source, restart the dsh web service to update the bundle tree.

Typical Usage

  • Steering: Use the arrow keys ↑ ↓ ← → to steer the whale.
  • Start/Pause: Press the Space key to start, pause, or resume the game.
  • Menu actions: On the start, restart, or exit screens, press Space or Enter to confirm an option.
  • Keyboard takeover: Click the capsule in the bottom-right corner to take over the keyboard. Once focus leaves, the whale continues swimming but does not respond to key presses.
  • Reopen: Click the 🐳 icon at the bottom of the sidebar to reopen the game at any time.

Notes

  • Failure reset: After the game ends, use the arrow keys to toggle “Restart” or “Exit,” and press Space to confirm.
  • Exit effect: After exiting the game, the background whale and transparent effect are removed, restoring the page to its original state.
  • Development debugging: After modifying lib/client.js, refresh the page for changes to take effect (the bundle is served with no-cache).
  • Local development: After installing for local development, restart the dsh web service.

Summary

The dsh-snake plugin integrates a minimal game into the DeepSeek Harness development environment, providing entertainment while ensuring no impact on normal code writing or content browsing. The project follows the MIT license and has a clear code structure.
