Introduction

The web interface of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is the primary entry point for developing and debugging agents. During use, developers often need to adjust context, modify conversational history, or fine-tune model parameters. DSH More, a practical plugin patch, integrates directly into the existing interface and fills functional gaps in DeepSeek Harness Web for context management and history control, without relying on a separate dashboard.

Plugin Positioning

DSH More is maintained by SodaZheng and is an open-source plugin released under the MIT License. It provides a set of independently toggleable patches to fix missing features in the web interface, including context editing, message deletion, and model capability configuration.

Core Features

1. Edit and Restart

This feature allows you to modify a selected user message and regenerate subsequent dialogue based on the modified content.
* Operation Logic: It cuts the persistence log before the selected turn, creates a child session (inheriting the original workspace, preset, provider, and token limit), submits the edited text, archives the source branch session, and opens the child session.
* Characteristics: Changes are applied directly without a secondary confirmation step; the first turn of the child session reuses the runtime context to avoid duplicated system prompts.

2. Delete a Message

This feature supports removing a single message from the original conversation while rebuilding the context and maintaining the integrity of the dialogue structure.
* Operation Logic: It removes the selected model-surface node, expands the deletion range only when tool call/result pairing must remain atomic, rebuilds the surviving context, and opens a child session.
* Characteristics: After deletion, the removed content will not appear in the child session’s raw history, trace, or future model input.

3. Permanently Delete a Session

This feature provides a way to completely remove a session, which differs from the native “archive” behavior.
* Operation Logic: It stops and unloads the target session, removes its exact JSONL persistence directory, detaches the session from the workspace, and incrementally syncs the list.
* Characteristics: When deleting the current session, the system prioritizes selecting an adjacent visible session to avoid leaving the interface in an empty state.

4. Model Capability Configuration

This feature pushes model configuration items down to the specific model level, making fine-grained management easier.
* Operation Path: Open Settings → Models, expand the saved provider and click Edit, then click Model capabilities below the model.
* Configuration Items:
* Vision: Supports inheriting default values, supporting images, or accepting text only.
* Thinking types: Supports inheriting default values, disabling reasoning, or selecting a supported level (off / minimal / low / medium / high / xhigh / max).
* Thinking parameter format: Select an installed DSH format (such as OpenAI, DeepSeek, Qwen, or OpenRouter).

Installation and Activation

Environment Requirements

  • Node.js >= 24
  • DeepSeek Harness 0.1.5-rc.2

Installation Steps

DSH More is installed into the specified Web configuration file through the DSH plugin mechanism. Please use the following command:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-more

After installation is complete, restart the Web service:

dsh web

If dsh web is already running, stop the process first and then restart it to load the new plugin. After installation is complete, confirm that DSH More appears in Settings → Plugins → Plugin configuration.

Typical Usage

Edit and Restart a Conversation

  1. Hover the mouse over a user message.
  2. Select Edit and restart from here in the action row.
  3. Modify the text content, then select Edit and restart again.

Delete a Single Message

  1. Hover the mouse over a user or assistant message.
  2. Select Delete this message.
  3. Check the message content and any additional context nodes that should be retained (such as tool pairing).
  4. Confirm the deletion.

Permanently Delete a Session

  1. Open the overflow menu of the session list (usually located to the right of the session row).
  2. Select the standalone Permanently delete session action (distinct from the native Archive session action).

Configure Model Capabilities

  1. Open Settings → Models.
  2. Click Edit next to the saved provider.
  3. Click Model capabilities below the model and adjust Vision, Thinking types, or parameter format as needed.

Notes

  • Version Dependency: DSH More currently depends on DeepSeek Harness 0.1.5-rc.2. Because DSH is still in the Release Candidate stage, upgrading the main program may require adjusting the central adapter layer, and plugin features may change as a result.
  • Runtime Permissions: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current dsh process. Please ensure that it is installed from a trusted source.
  • Deletion Behavior: Permanently deleting a session does not archive the session, nor does it move it to the DSH More trash directory; it is an irreversible operation.

Conclusion

By providing native context editing, message deletion, and model capability configuration, DSH More improves the usability of DeepSeek Harness Web in long-conversation debugging and model fine-tuning scenarios. For developers who frequently need to intervene in conversational history, this plugin provides the necessary controls.
