Introduction

The philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” In the official “Plugin List” tab, only metadata such as entryId, moduleName, and enabled is usually displayed, lacking a straightforward explanation of each plugin’s functionality. When developers have installed a large number of plugins, it can be difficult to quickly identify the purpose of each package.

The dsh-plugin-descriptions plugin adds a coexisting “Plugin Descriptions” tab before the official “Plugin List” tab. It displays functional descriptions, full package names, entryId, and mounting status for installed Cordis plugins, groups them by functional domain, and supports search and filtering.

Core Features

  • New tab: Adds a “Plugin Descriptions” tab before the official “Plugin List” tab.
  • Information display: Groups and displays plugin information by functional domain, including short name, enabled/disabled tag, mounting status dot, full package name, functional description, description source (built-in description or auto-read), entryId, and Cordis status.
  • Auto-read: Automatically reads the description field from package.json of installed plugin packages.
  • Priority notes: Built-in Chinese descriptions for commonly used plugins take priority over auto-read content. If no description is available, it shows “No description available.”
  • Interaction: Supports search (name, package name, description, category) and filtering (category, enabled/disabled).

Installation and Enablement

  1. Clone the code and enter the directory:
git clone https://github.com/seki668/dsh-plugin-descriptions.git
cd dsh-plugin-descriptions
  1. Run the installation command:
node install.mjs
  1. After restarting dsh, go to Settings → Plugins → “Plugin Descriptions”.

Notes

  • Environment requirement: the dsh version must be 0.1.0-rc.6.
  • Coexistence mechanism: this plugin does not modify the official “Plugin List” tab; both tabs coexist.
  • Restart requirement: the first time you install or uninstall a Web client plugin, or when updating this plugin’s code, dsh must be restarted.
  • Description language: auto-read descriptions are usually in English, and plugins without a built-in description show “No description available.”

Conclusion

This plugin adds a new tab to supplement the functional descriptions missing from the official plugin list, helping developers quickly understand the details of installed plugins. The related code and catalog page are available via the links below.
