Intro¶
When using the DeepSeek API for development, peak hours (9:00–12:00 and 14:00–18:00 daily, Beijing Time) are usually associated with higher prices and slower latency. For developers who call the API frequently, manually switching modes or checking balances is not only cumbersome but can also lead to unnecessary costs. This plugin aims to solve this pain point through a visual interface and notification mechanisms.
What Is This¶
This is a client plugin maintained by lsakira. It provides real-time period indication, pre-peak reminders, and an API balance card for DeepSeek Harness (dsh), helping developers stay aware of the current operating status.
Core Features¶
-
Mode Indicator Light
The current period is displayed persistently in the lower-left corner of the interface:
- Liang Wenfeng (Peak): daily 9:00–12:00, 14:00–18:00.
- Liang Wengu (Off-Peak): all other times. -
Pre-Peak Reminder
A notification bar appears in the lower-right corner before the peak period begins (default: 10 minutes in advance, configurable). Both the reminder title and content can be customized. The plugin is only responsible for reminders and does not interfere with the model’s response behavior. -
Balance Card
Displays the DeepSeek API balance above the indicator light (refreshed every 5 minutes). When the balance falls below the configured threshold (default: CNY 2), the card turns red.
Installation and Enablement¶
Prerequisite: DeepSeek Harness (dsh) has been installed and is running. In the following text, $DSH_HOME refers to your dsh data directory (default: ~/.dsh or C:\Users\<username>\.dsh).
- Place the plugin directory into
$DSH_HOME/tools/dsh-peak-reminder/. - Edit
$DSH_HOME/profiles/web/package.jsonand add the following todsh.profile.bundles:
"@local/dsh-peak-reminder"
- Run the following command under
$DSH_HOME/profiles/web/:
dsh plugin --profile web add ./../../tools/dsh-peak-reminder
- Restart dsh and refresh the browser page.
Typical Usage¶
- Configure API Key: Set
DEEPSEEK_API_KEYin$DSH_HOME/.credentials.yaml. - Custom Settings: Edit the “⚙️ User Settings” section at the top of
dsh/client.js.ADVANCE_MIN: How many minutes in advance to remind (default: 10).REMIND_TITLE: Reminder title (default: “Liang Wenfeng is coming”).BALANCE_RED_BELOW: Balance threshold below which the card turns red (default: 2).
- Save the changes and restart dsh (or refresh the page) to apply the settings.
Applicable Scenarios and Cautions¶
- Applicable Scenarios: Suitable for developers who need precise control over API call costs and timing and want automatic status information.
- Notes:
- The plugin is only responsible for display and reminders. It never enforces anything and does not interfere with model response behavior.
- The API Key is read only on the server side and does not appear in browser-side code.
- Balance data is not guaranteed to be accurate in real time; use at your own risk.
- If the indicator light is not displayed, refresh the page (F5) or restart dsh.
Conclusion¶
This plugin reduces the need for manual monitoring by providing a persistent interface indicator and notification reminders, making it well suited for integration into everyday DSH workflows. For more information, see: Catalog URL or GitHub.
