Introduction¶
The design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” In agent development or code generation scenarios, models relying solely on conversational context often cannot accurately identify the code structure of the current workspace. The dsh-ide-context plugin reads Claude Code’s IDE integration bridge files and injects the list of currently open files and selected text from the IDE directly into each model turn, reducing the need to paste context manually.
Plugin Role¶
dsh-ide-context is a DeepSeek Harness bundle. It reuses the ~/.claude/ide/<port>.lock files and MCP-over-WebSocket protocol used by the Claude Code CLI, and therefore supports both IntelliJ IDEA and Visual Studio Code. The plugin passes file paths, line/character ranges, and selected text to the model as context.
Core Features¶
- Read bridge files: Reads IDE integration bridge files to retrieve state.
- Inject context: Injects currently open files and text selections.
- Project filtering: Filters context to the scope of the current project and ignores irrelevant projects and virtual documents.
- Cross-platform support: Supports macOS and Windows native platforms.
Installation and Enabling¶
Run the installation command in the terminal:
dsh plugin add github:LSAI2023/dsh-ide-context
After installation, start the profile that includes this bundle:
dsh --profile web
Configuration Notes¶
The plugin allows configuration overrides in the profile’s cordis.patch.yml. Common configuration items include:
* refreshIntervalMs: Injection interval. Setting it to 0 or omitting it injects on every change; a positive value waits the specified number of milliseconds after the last injection before injecting again.
* pollIntervalMs: Polling interval, defaulting to 5000. Used by VS Code to retrieve file state.
* lockDir: Lock file directory, defaulting to ~/.claude/ide.
Example configuration:
- id: ide-context
config:
refreshIntervalMs: 30000
pollIntervalMs: 5000
lockDir: ~/.claude/ide
Notes and Dependencies¶
- Runtime environment: A Claude Code IDE session must be running, and the sandbox must allow reading the
~/.claude/idedirectory. If permissions are insufficient, the plugin logs a warning and skips injection. - Platform differences: Selections in IntelliJ IDEA are pushed, while VS Code supports polling. WSL (Linux host + Windows IDE) path conversion has not been implemented yet.
- Dependencies: Runtime dependencies include
@deepseek-ai/dsh-llmand@deepseek-ai/schemastery.
Summary¶
By integrating IDE context, the plugin enables DeepSeek Harness to understand the current code state more precisely. For more details, refer to the plugin directory or the GitHub repository.
