Foreword¶
DeepSeek Harness (dsh) uses a plugin-based architecture, and extensibility is usually achieved by installing external packages. During agent development, tool calls generate files (such as write operations), and these files are scattered across different sessions. To review what the Agent produced across all conversations, you need to switch between individual historical sessions. The @kksw/dsh-my-files plugin introduced below is a Web client plugin that adds an entry to the dsh sidebar and centrally displays all files created or modified by the Agent across sessions.
Plugin Overview¶
- Name:
@kksw/dsh-my-files - Maintainer: kksw1024
- Positioning: DeepSeek Harness Web plugin
- Core Value: Provides cross-session file indexing and a unified viewing panel.
Core Features¶
This plugin implements the following capabilities:
- Sidebar Entry: Adds a “My Files” entry above the settings gear icon (Settings) in the sidebar. It uses a folder icon, with size and style consistent with the settings button.
- Cross-Session Indexing: Automatically records files created or modified by tool calls in each session (such as
write). Historical sessions are automatically replayed when the plugin loads to complete the index. - Two-Column Panel: The panel uses a left-right split layout. The left column lists sessions by session name and file count; the right column displays the file list of the selected session. Clicking the gray mask outside the panel or the close button exits the panel.
- File Interaction: File names support hover highlighting and underline styling. Clicking a file name opens the file using the default system application; clicking the folder icon after the file name opens the directory containing the file.
- Persistence: The file index is stored in the
dshstorage domain, and the data remains available after restartingdsh.
Installation and Enabling¶
Before installation, ensure that you are using the DeepSeek Harness Web version, and that the dsh version is at least 0.1.0-rc.5.
- Run the installation command:
dsh plugin --profile web add @kksw/dsh-my-files
- Restart
dsh:
dsh --profile web
- Refresh the browser page. You can then see the “My Files” entry at the bottom of the sidebar, above the settings gear.
Typical Usage¶
- Click “My Files” in the sidebar to open the panel.
- Select a session in the left list. The right panel displays the files generated by that session.
- Click a file name to open the file with the default system application; click the folder icon to the right of the file name to open the directory containing the file.
- If you need to update the index (for example, after making a new tool call), click the refresh button in the upper-right corner of the panel to refetch it.
Notes and Limitations¶
- Index Scope: Only files explicitly declared as “created/modified” by tool calls are counted. Files indirectly created via terminal commands are not included in the index.
- Cold Session Replay: In cold session replay scenarios, only tools registered within a specific Agent Preset may lack a presenter, which may result in an incomplete index (real-time calls are not affected).
- Trust Boundary: Query routing uses
loopbackas the trust boundary. - Runtime Environment: Opening files and navigating to directories depend on the host environment’s native opener (macOS / Windows desktop environments). In deployment environments without a native opener (such as headless or remote environments), clicks may have no response.
Conclusion¶
This plugin solves the problem of scattered and hard-to-find files in Agent development through a unified sidebar entry. It is suitable for developers who need to track tool-generated outputs across multiple sessions.
