When developing agents in DeepSeek Harness (DSH), you need to monitor the interaction state in the Web UI at all times. If an agent is running in the background or has not responded for a long time, developers can easily miss important notifications. This plugin solves the problem by using Windows system-level notifications, making the end-of-turn state more visible.
What This Is¶
This is a DSH plugin named hxy113/dsh-turn-notify, maintained by the developer hxy113. It uses the native Windows Toast notification mechanism to notify users when an agent completes a turn and provides a click-to-jump feature. The plugin is licensed under the MIT License.
Core Features¶
- Windows Toast Notifications: System-level notifications are triggered when an agent turn ends.
- Click-to-Jump: Clicking the notification automatically opens the Web UI and navigates to the corresponding session.
- Session Filtering: Notifications are triggered only for root sessions (interactive sessions) to avoid interference from subagents or internal workflow turns.
Installation and Enablement¶
Install the plugin and start the Web UI:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:hxy113/dsh-turn-notify
dsh web
Typical Usage¶
- Start the DSH Web UI.
- Run the agent and complete a turn.
- A Windows Toast notification appears in the bottom-right corner.
- Click the notification to automatically open the browser and navigate to the session.
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
- Environment Requirements: Windows 10/11 is required, and
dsh webmust be running. - Notification Blocking: Notifications may be blocked by the system’s “Focus Assist” or app notification settings. This is native Windows behavior, so check the settings if needed.
- Uninstallation: To remove it, run:
dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-turn-notify
During uninstallation, registry keys and leftover shortcuts are automatically cleaned up.
- Technical Details: The plugin listens to the
agent/turn-stoppingevent and usespowershell.exe -STAtogether with the WinRTToastNotificationManagerto send notifications. After clicking, it restores the session through the registered/jump-sessionroute.
Summary¶
This tool makes state tracking during agent development lightweight and immediate, making it suitable for scenarios that require frequent interaction and monitoring. The plugin source code is available on GitHub.
