Introduction¶
The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) interface is primarily graphical, but frequent daily operations (creating new sessions, switching sessions, switching workspaces, toggling views, executing commands) often require moving the cursor or clicking buttons. To retain the graphical interface while achieving “cursor-free” operation, this article introduces a plugin called dsh-command-palette. It provides a unified keyboard entry point, allowing users to complete all common daily operations with a single shortcut, without needing to manually look for buttons or menus.
Plugin Overview¶
Name: dsh-command-palette
Maintainer: hajimixiaojie
Category: Client
License: MIT
Core Value: Summon a panel with one shortcut, search by keywords, execute by pressing Enter, covering session management, workspace switching, view toggling, and other operations, without needing to manually look for buttons or menus.
Installation and Enablement¶
Before installing, ensure that DSH 0.1.0-rc.6 is installed and that the Web interface can be opened normally (Node.js ≥ 22 is required).
Run the following command in the terminal:
dsh plugin --profile web add npm:@dsh-community/dsh-command-palette
Command description:
* dsh plugin: invokes the DSH plugin manager.
* --profile web: installs the plugin into the Web configuration.
* add npm:@dsh-community/dsh-command-palette: downloads and installs it from the npm registry.
After successful installation, reopen the DSH web page. Press Ctrl+Shift+K to open the panel, or see the panel button on the left side of the input box; this indicates that the installation was successful.
Core Features¶
- One entry point for all operations: Creating new sessions, switching sessions, switching workspaces, opening detail panels, and other operations are all centralized in the panel.
- Only show currently available commands: Unavailable commands are greyed out and show the reason directly (for example, “at least two sessions are required”).
- Automatically include plugin commands: Commands registered by other DSH plugins are also automatically shown in the panel for unified management.
- Fully keyboard-operable: Use
↑↓to select,Enterto execute, andEscto exit, without taking your hands off the keyboard. - Visible execution results: Successful execution shows a notification, failures display the reason and provide a retry option, and long-running tasks can be cancelled.
Usage¶
Open the Panel¶
The default shortcut is Ctrl+Shift+K. Even if the cursor is inside the input box, pressing this combination can directly open or close the panel.
Search and Execute¶
After opening the panel, enter a keyword in the top input box to search for commands (supports searching by name, keyword, and category, in either Chinese or English). The list is grouped by category by default, and recently used commands appear at the top.
Basic Operations:
* ↑ / ↓: select commands up and down.
* Enter: execute the selected command.
* Esc: close the panel.
Typical Scenarios:
* Create a new session
* Switch sessions
* Switch workspace
* Open detail panel
Notes¶
- Web popup command limitations: Popup-style commands registered by the Web interface client (such as
/modeland/mcp) do not have a public enumeration API and will not appear in the panel for now. These commands still need to be used by entering them directly in the input box. - Error handling: If execution fails, the panel does not close; it displays the failure reason and provides a “Retry” button.
- Permissions: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current dsh process. It is recommended to review the source code and license before installation.
Conclusion¶
This plugin improves DSH usage efficiency through a unified entry point and keyboard operation. For more details, see the GitHub repository.
