DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts a plugin-based architecture, and developers usually need to manage cloud server connections in the Web interface. The dsh-cloud-connector plugin addresses this need by integrating SSH connection management into DSH’s Web GUI and provides a set of conversational tools to operate servers directly from the chat window.
Plugin Information¶
- Project Name:
gzr123166/dsh-cloud-connector - Core Positioning: Codex-style cloud server SSH connection manager
- Maintainer: gzr123166
- License: MIT
Core Features¶
1. Visual Settings Page Management¶
In the DSH settings page “SSH Connections”, a visual operation interface is provided:
- Add Connection: Enter the IP address, port, username, and private key path to establish a connection.
- Independent Control: Each server has an independent toggle, allowing connection or disconnection at any time.
- Multi-Server Management: Supports editing (⚙) and deleting (🗑) configurations.
- Auto-Connect on Startup: Each server can individually specify whether to automatically connect after DSH starts.
- Configuration Persistence: The server list and configurations are stored in the servers.json file, so settings are not lost after restarting DSH.
2. Port Tunneling¶
Supports mapping server ports to the local browser through an SSH tunnel:
- Supports mapping ports listening on the server (such as Jupyter or databases) to localhost:本地端口.
- Provides start/stop toggles and an auto-establish-on-startup feature.
3. Conversational Tools¶
The plugin provides a set of cloud_* tools that can be used directly in conversation:
- cloud_connect: connect to a server.
- cloud_exec: execute remote commands.
- cloud_transfer: upload/download files.
- cloud_server_info: retrieve system information (hostname, CPU, memory, disk, GPU, Python version).
- cloud_gpu_monitor: GPU monitoring.
- cloud_env_manager: Conda/Python environment management.
- cloud_task_queue: Slurm task queue management.
- cloud_list_connections: list servers and connection status.
- cloud_disconnect: disconnect.
- cloud_manage_servers: add, delete, or modify server configurations and auto-connect settings.
Installation and Enablement¶
Method 1: Using the dsh plugin Command¶
Run the following command in the terminal:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:gzr123166/dsh-cloud-connector#main
Method 2: Manual Installation¶
- Add this repository to the dependencies in
~/.dsh/profiles/web/package.json. - Run the install command:
cd ~/.dsh/profiles/web
pnpm install
- Ensure that the
dsh.profile.bundlesarray in~/.dsh/profiles/web/package.jsoncontainsdsh-cloud-connector. - Restart DSH.
Usage Workflow¶
- Add a Server: Open DSH, go to “Settings → SSH Connections”, click “+ Add”, fill in the server information, and connect.
- Configure Tunneling: In the “Port Tunneling” section at the bottom of the settings page, configure the mapping from server ports to local ports.
- Chat Operations: Directly invoke
cloud_*tools in the chat window to execute commands, manage environments, or view monitoring information.
Notes¶
- Private Key Path: The default private key path is
C:/Users/linxianyuan/.ssh/id_rsa_cloud(example path); replace it with the actual private key path before use. - Configuration File: The
servers.jsonfile has been added to.gitignore; do not commit it to the code repository. - Windows Path Issue: When executing SSH commands on Windows, paths containing Chinese characters may cause command-line corruption; using ASCII paths is recommended.
- Client Development Specification: During plugin development,
lib/client.jsmust use thewindow.__ModuleLoader__.load({...})factory wrapper format.
Ecosystem Context¶
DSH emphasizes “everything is a plugin”, and this plugin is maintained by the community. For complete documentation and source code, refer to the project homepage.
