When handling complex tasks, a single session often cannot contain the entire planning process. Ideas are often vague, and directly letting an Agent reason through them can easily lead astray. The gyanano/wayfinder-dashboard plugin introduces the Wayfinder concept and visualizes the planning process as an interactive decision graph.
What Is It¶
This is a DeepSeek Harness client plugin. It turns Matt Pocock’s Wayfinder concept into an interactive decision graph. Nodes represent questions, and edges represent dependencies. The Agent is responsible for deriving the next layer, while humans make the decisions.
Installation and Enabling¶
Before using it, make sure DeepSeek Harness 0.1.0-rc.7 or a compatible version is installed.
- Run the installation command to add the plugin to the Web Profile:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:Gyanano/wayfinder-dashboard
- Start Harness:
dsh
After startup, the Wayfinder Map appears at the very bottom of the sidebar.
Core Features¶
- Decision Graph Visualization: Turns the planning process into a graph. Nodes are questions, and edges are dependencies.
- Layer-by-Layer Derivation: The graph is read top to bottom. The starting point is a vague idea, the middle is a layer that has already been clarified, below is the fog (the next layer), and the bottom is the destination. The Agent grows only one layer at a time.
- Workspace Isolation: The graph belongs to one workspace. A graph drawn in one repository does not leak into another repository.
- Evidence-Oriented: Research only brings back evidence, and does not make decisions for you.
- Always Visible: Every question can be seen and opened at any time. Dependencies only block execution, not viewing.
Typical Usage¶
Enter commands in the input box to operate the map:
- Create a new graph and derive the first layer:
/wf-chart 我们想做插件,但路还看不清
The Agent will draw the first layer of questions in the current session.
- Record a decision: Open a node and use:
/wf-decide <决定>
- Dispatch research:
/wf-research [说明]
- Advance one step:
/wf-advance
- Export: You can export the current map as a PNG from the top bar.
Configuration¶
Usually, no configuration changes are required. If you need to override the defaults, add override entries to the profile’s cordis.patch.yml.
Capability Boundaries¶
The Agent can list graphs, read graphs, update the destination and fog, add or modify questions, and claim and report research.
There is no tool for “making decisions on behalf of humans”. HITL (human-in-the-loop) questions can only be resolved by you using /wf-decide in the input box.
Conclusion¶
This plugin addresses the “vague ideas and unclear paths” problem in complex planning by helping developers organize their thinking through a visualized decision graph. To learn more or view the source code, visit the plugin directory page or the GitHub repository.
