DeepSeek Harness (DSH) MCP client is designed to instantiate one plugin instance per server and does not read files by default. This makes configuration management cumbersome. The dsh-mcp- plugin fills this gap by serving as a configuration discovery layer that reads and merges existing configurations from Claude Code, Kiro, OpenCode, and Codex, enabling DSH to directly take advantage of these tools’ server resources.
Plugin Overview¶
This is a configuration discovery plugin maintained by caopu16 and released under the MIT license. It addresses the pain point of configurations being scattered across different tools. By merging configuration files in multiple formats, it keeps the set of servers running in DeepSeek Harness in sync with the configuration files.
Core Features¶
- Read and merge configurations: Automatically reads and merges MCP configuration files from Claude Code, Kiro, OpenCode, and Codex.
- Live reload: Supports live reloading after configuration changes without restarting DSH.
- Multi-format support: Supports multiple configuration formats, including JSON and TOML.
- Dialect conversion: Automatically converts configuration dialects by mapping fields from different tools into a unified format.
- Configuration import: Supports one-time import of external configurations to generate a single configuration document.
- Patch support: Supports patching configuration files.
Installation and Enablement¶
Install the plugin using the following command:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:caopu16/dsh-mcp-
Typical Usage¶
Preview Import Results¶
Before formally importing configurations, it is recommended to preview the merged result:
dsh-mcp--import --dry-run
Import Configurations¶
Run the import command to merge external tool configurations into DSH’s configuration:
dsh-mcp--import
Configure Borrow Mode¶
By default, the plugin continuously reads files from external tools. If you want to keep the configuration fully under your own control, you can set borrow mode. Set the following in ~/.dsh/settings.yaml:
mcp-:
borrow: false
After setting this, the discovery scope is limited to ~/.dsh/mcp.json and <cwd>/.dsh/mcp.json, making the files fully controllable.
Use Cases and Notes¶
- Use cases: Suitable for developers who need to use multiple MCP servers simultaneously and want to avoid duplicate configuration across multiple tools.
- Runtime environment: Requires the DeepSeek Harness environment.
- Patch limitation: When using patch configurations, ids must not be duplicated.
- Configuration hierarchy: Importing configurations does not change the precedence relationships among configuration layers (that is, it does not override project-level configuration priority).
- JSON syntax: Supports relaxed JSON syntax (such as comments).
Conclusion¶
dsh-mcp- simplifies the use of MCP services in multi-tool environments by providing unified configuration management. For more details, refer to the project repository: https://github.com/caopu16/dsh-mcp-
