Introduction

The core concept of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” For content creators, writing long-form content or managing complex projects solely in the chat window often feels unstructured. If you are looking for a solution that turns AI conversations into a structured creation tool, “Xiashuo” is a practical choice.

Plugin Overview

“Xiashuo” is a plugin for DeepSeek Harness (DSH), maintained by bettermen and licensed under the MIT License. It upgrades DSH’s chat interface into a workspace for project management and content creation.

This plugin centralizes project management on the homepage and provides standardized stage workflows for different content types, such as courses, official documents, novels, and papers. In addition to visual editing, it integrates a material library and knowledge graph, aiming to address issues such as lack of structure, difficulty in collaboration, and inconsistent delivery of final outputs.

Core Features

Homepage Project Management

The plugin provides both card and list views, showing project type, status, progress, and word count. It supports filtering by type, status, and keyword, as well as creating, editing, copying, archiving, and deleting projects.

Multi-Type Workflow Support

Built-in standard workflows for multiple content types:
* Courses: a nine-stage workflow.
* Official documents: a seven-stage workflow.
* Novels: a nine-stage workflow.
* Papers: an eight-stage workflow.
* Custom: users can define the type name, icon, and initial workflow.

Editable Workflows

Workflows are not fixed. Users can reorder or add/remove stages by dragging them in the left pane of the workspace. Each stage can be configured with gates, required deliverables, AI prompts, review criteria, and whether it can be skipped. It supports restoring the default workflow, saving as a template, and applying templates from the template library.

Three-Pane Workspace

The interface is divided into three panes:
* Left pane: displays chapter/stage/workflow views, supporting drag-and-drop reordering and right-click actions.
* Middle pane: integrates a Markdown editor, supporting autosave (2 seconds after typing stops), soft line breaks, undo/redo, and find/replace.
* Right pane: material library (knowledge point management) and knowledge graph (visualized node relationships).

Knowledge Graph and Material Library

The material library supports adding, editing, disabling, and managing keywords for knowledge points. The knowledge graph visualizes node relationships, with labels distributed radially to prevent overlap.

Export and Collaboration

It supports exporting TXT text and standard Word (.docx) files. It provides sharing functionality, allowing generation of read-only or editable links. For multi-user collaboration, it includes version history and conflict detection.

Installation and Activation

Before use, ensure DeepSeek Harness is installed and your Node.js environment is version 18 or higher.

Installation Command

Use the official command to install the plugin:

dsh plugin --profile web add <该文件路径>

Verify Installation

After installation, refresh the DSH page; a “Xiashuo” entry should appear in the sidebar.

Typical Usage

Creating a Course from Scratch

  1. Open the Xiashuo homepage.
  2. Click “+ New Project”.
  3. Select the “Course” type and write chapter by chapter following the nine-stage workflow.

Drafting an Official Document

  1. Create a new project and select the “Official Document” type.
  2. Progress through the seven stages: requirements confirmation → materials → outline → first draft → review and approval.

Team Collaboration and Export

  1. Click “Share” at the top of the project to generate an editable link and send it to team members.
  2. After finishing writing, click “Export”, choose the Word format, and download the file.

Data and Security

  • Local storage: Data is stored only in the local ~/.dsh/xiashuo/ directory and is not uploaded to any network.
  • Security mechanisms: GUI routes include custom header validation to prevent CSRF attacks; sharing endpoints use Token authentication; all write operations are recorded in audit logs.
