Introduction

When a DSH conversation has a long history, locating a specific user message usually requires a lot of scrolling. dsh-conversation-threads provides a Codex-like experience by adding a navigation track to the right side of the sidebar, allowing users to quickly locate historical messages.

Purpose

This is a plugin that adds a Codex-style message navigation track to the DSH chat interface. The track is positioned tightly along the outer right edge of the sidebar (+4px) and is vertically centered within the chat box. It is maintained by bertonsaa and licensed under the MIT License.

Core Features

  • Track form: A vertical list of horizontal short lines, arranged from top to bottom, where each line corresponds to one user message (excluding assistant replies). It is automatically hidden if there are fewer than 2 messages.
  • Hover preview: When the mouse hovers over a line, that line is highlighted and the message content appears at the lower right (content longer than 30 characters is truncated).
  • Click navigation: Clicking a track line smoothly scrolls to the corresponding message position.
  • Scroll synchronization: While browsing the conversation, the message line corresponding to the top of the viewport is highlighted automatically.
  • Adaptive behavior: Supports light/dark themes and automatic switching between Chinese and English interfaces.

Installation and Activation

Two installation methods are provided; the Bundle method is recommended.

This plugin is also a standard DSH plugin package and uses the profile’s dsh.profile.bundles channel. It remains effective after restart.

cd <DSH_HOME>/profiles/web
pnpm add "file:/绝对路径/dsh-conversation-threads"

After installation, add the plugin name to the dsh.profile.bundles field in package.json, then restart DSH.

Method B: Dynamic Skill Activation

Place the source code in DSH’s skill directory and activate it during a session following the flow in SKILL.md. This method is temporary/session-level and disappears after restart.

Usage

After activation, no further action is required; the track automatically appears along the outer right edge of the sidebar. Hover to view message content, and click to jump to the corresponding position.

Notes

  • Persistence: The Bundle method is a persistent installation and remains effective after restart; the Skill method is temporary/session-level and disappears after restart.
  • Applying changes: The file: method installs by copying. After modifying the code, you must run pnpm add again for the changes to take effect.
  • Privacy and security: It is implemented purely on the client side, with no Host segment, no API key, no network requests, and no data transmission.
  • Prerequisites: Requires DSH’s dynamic Cordis plugin capability.
