The native DSH web client limits the session text column width to 748px, wasting a lot of horizontal space on large screens. The dsh-chat-width plugin overrides the client CSS variables to adjust the default width to 1040px and provides further adjustment options.
Plugin Overview¶
This is a client-side plugin maintained by user 764475881. It adjusts the default chat content width from 748px to 1040px and supports real-time adjustment via a drag handle or console commands.
Core Features¶
- CSS variable override: Uses client-side CSS overrides to adjust the
--dsh-chat-content-widthvariable for width control. - Drag handle: There is a handle on the right edge of the text column. Press and drag it to adjust the width in real time; the value is automatically remembered on release. Double-click the handle to restore the default value of 1040px.
- Console command: Use
__setChatWidth(value)to adjust, with a range of 520~2400. - Automatic responsiveness: The input box and bottom toolbar widths automatically follow the content width.
Installation and Enablement¶
- Ensure the DSH version in your environment is >= 0.1.0-rc.7.
- Run the installation command under the Web Profile:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:764475881/dsh-chat-width
Typical Usage¶
- Restore default: Double-click the handle on the right edge.
- Adjust via console: Open the browser console (F12) and enter:
__setChatWidth(960)
Notes¶
- The width setting is saved to the browser’s localStorage (key
dsh_chat_width). - Requires DSH >= 0.1.0-rc.7.
