Introduction

Users of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) often need to interact through agents via WeChat. Traditional integration approaches usually require setting up an additional proxy service or manually managing tokens. The dsh-weixin plugin aims to solve this problem. It allows users to connect a bot to DSH directly by scanning a WeChat QR code and handles message flow within the Host process.

What Is It

This is a workflow plugin maintained by xmanrui for integrating Tencent WeChat bots into DeepSeek Harness. The plugin runs inside the Host process of dsh web: the browser side is only responsible for displaying a one-time QR code and masked status; the bot_token obtained after scanning is written directly into the Harness credential service, after which the Host uses the Tencent iLink Bot API to perform long polling for sending and receiving messages.

Installation and Binding

Before installing, make sure the following prerequisites are met:
* The DeepSeek Harness version is 0.1.0-rc.6, and the Node.js runtime is >=22.19;
* The WeChat account on the phone has the WeChat bot feature enabled (this feature is being rolled out by Tencent in batches and cannot be bypassed by the plugin code);
* The device running Harness can access *.weixin.qq.com.

Run the following command to install:

npx -y github:xmanrui/dsh-weixin install

After installation, restart dsh web, then bind it by following these steps:

  1. Open “Settings → Plugins → WeChat”;
  2. Click “Scan QR Code to Bind WeChat”;
  3. Use the WeChat app on your phone to scan the QR code on the page and confirm on the phone;
  4. If the phone displays a pairing number, enter that number on the Harness page;
  5. Once the page shows “Running normally,” you can send messages to the bound bot in WeChat.

Features and Message Behavior

  • Multi-account isolation: Multiple WeChat accounts can be added by repeatedly scanning the QR code. Each account has independent credential references, long polling, sync cursors, message deduplication records, and Harness session mappings.
  • Message support: Supports text messages and voice messages that already include WeChat-provided text recognition results. Images, files, videos, and voice messages without transcription are not currently processed.
  • Session mapping: Each WeChat user is mapped to a persistent Harness session, supporting continuous conversation.
  • Commands: Sending /new in WeChat clears the current session mapping, /status checks the connection status, and /help displays help information.

Notes

  • Project status: The project is no longer maintained. The author recommends migrating to the dsh-im plugin, which has more complete features.
  • Security design: The bot_token is not sent to the browser and is stored only in the credential service of the Host process. Deleting an account also stops its long polling and cleans up its credentials, configuration, and session mapping.
  • Network dependency: The Host process must be able to access *.weixin.qq.com.
  • Permission restriction: Only private chat messages from users confirmed via QR code scanning are accepted; other users are rejected by default.

Summary

dsh-weixin provides a native way to integrate WeChat into DeepSeek Harness. Its core advantages are secure token storage and message handling within the Host process. For users who need simple text interaction via WeChat, this plugin offers a direct solution.
