In the Web compiler of DeepSeek Harness, you need to confirm which vendor provides the currently selected model. The model selector only displays the model name and lacks a vendor indicator. This plugin solves this issue by adding a vendor pill to the left of the model selector.
What This Is¶
This is a vendor indicator registered in the Web compiler. It is maintained by Townrain and is used to display the vendor used behind the current model next to the model selector.
Core Features¶
-
Registration Location
The plugin registers a badge atconversation.input.right, the editor tool row to the left of the model selector. -
Data Source
It reads the sameModelDirectorydata source as the session. Whether the model is changed in the model selector menu, the/modelpopup, or on the host side, the pill updates in real time. -
Visual Presentation
For known vendor route IDs, it displays a dot with brand colors; for unknown routes, it falls back to a neutral dot. -
Technical Implementation
It uses pure client-side rendering. It does not involve host code, RPC calls, settings items, or session events.
Installation and Enablement¶
Install it using the official command:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:dsh-model-vendor-badge
After installation, refresh the page and the vendor pill will appear to the left of the model selector.
Building¶
If you need to build it locally, use the following command:
DSH_CHECKOUT=/path/to/deepseek-harness node build.mjs
This command resolves DeepSeek Harness esbuild and TypeScript dependencies, connects client type dependencies to node_modules/, and outputs lib/index.js (host side, no-op) and lib/client.js (browser bundle).
Notes¶
Uninstalling this plugin does not leave any residual files in the system.
Summary¶
dsh-model-vendor-badge uses a pure client-side approach to clearly display vendor information for the current model in the Web compiler, making it easier for developers to verify routing configuration.
