Introduction

The core capability of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) lies in plugin extension. When developing or debugging agents, developers often need to quickly evaluate session performance, while directly reading raw event logs is inefficient. dsh-viper-recap aims to solve this pain point by transforming complex log data into structured metrics and automatically generating Chinese recap text.

Plugin Overview

This plugin is maintained by superrabbit123 and is a model-visible tool plugin. It does not require additional API calls or model requests. It performs local calculations directly based on data already present in the current session, such as turn count, step count, tool call count, and failure count, and then generates a recap report.

Core Features

  • Log Aggregation and Statistics: Collapses the current session logs into turn count, step count, tool call count, failure count, and output token count.
  • Deterministic Chinese Recap: Based on the above statistics, generates deterministic Chinese recap copy.
  • Projection Publishing: Registers the viperRecap projection and pushes the statistics to the client.
  • Interactive Button: Provides a 🐍 button on the right side of the Composer; clicking it opens a floating recap card.
  • Zero-Cost Operation: Does not invoke the model additionally and does not require an API key.

Installation and Enablement

Use the official command to install from different sources. Note: If installing from GitHub, you need to allowBuild in the profile’s pnpm-workspace.yaml according to the prompt.

After installation, verify the configuration before starting:

Usage

Because the tool is visible to the model, it can be triggered directly in the conversation.

  1. Roast Recap (default):
    用 viper_recap 毒舌复盘一下这一局。
  1. Praise & Encouragement:
    用 viper_recap 夸夸我这一局。
  1. Explicitly Specify Tone:
    用 viper_recap 夸夸我这一局。 tone=toast

The tone parameter supports:
- roast (default): Roast / sharp critique.
- toast: Praise & encouragement.

Notes

  • Recap copy is only supported in Chinese.
  • The output is deterministically generated from session metrics and does not invoke the model.
  • Image saving is not implemented yet; the current card only supports toggling, copying, and closing.

Closing

Through local computation and deterministic rendering, this plugin provides DSH users with a lightweight session recap solution. Developers can quickly obtain session statistics and evaluation text without writing additional code.
