DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture to modularize functionality. In the Web GUI, quoting AI replies typically requires manual copy and paste, which is cumbersome. dsh-client-ui-quote is a selection-quoting plugin for the DeepSeek Harness Web interface. It lets users select content directly within an AI reply and attach it as a quote banner to the next message.

  • Selection Toolbar: After selecting text, the toolbar displays a “Quote” button. The button appears after a 50-millisecond debounce, avoiding flickering while dragging the selection.   • Clean Draft: Quoted content exists as a pending attachment and is not directly entered into the input box as text. After sending, focus automatically returns to the input box, making it easier to continue typing.
  • Localization Support: Toolbar labels and quote attribution follow the interface language (Chinese or English).
  • Legacy Rollback Mechanism: For older Harness versions without the input-machine quote attachment feature, the plugin inserts the quoted block at the end of the draft.

Installation and Enabling

Prerequisites:
* DeepSeek Harness Web GUI (dsh web) is installed.
* For full banner behavior, the @deepseek-ai/dsh-client-ui-conversation plugin must support InputActions.setQuote. Older Harness versions automatically fall back to inserting the quote at the end of the draft.

After installation, restart dsh web and refresh the browser.

Typical Usage

  1. In an AI reply message, select any text.
  2. Click the “Quote” button that appears above the selected text. The quoted content is displayed as a banner above the input box.
  3. Type your next message and send it. The quoted content appears as an attachment at the beginning of the message:
