Introduction

The design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness is “everything is a plugin.” When extending capabilities, manually editing configuration files to manage third-party plugins is error-prone. dsh-plugin-manager-lite is a static bundle plugin that provides a unified management entry point for third-party plugins through the Web GUI page “Settings -> Plugins -> Third-party Plugins”, supporting list viewing, enabling/disabling, uninstalling, and checking for updates.

Core Features

This plugin mainly addresses the problem of fragmented management of third-party plugins and provides the following capabilities:

  • Listing and Filtering: Automatically reads package.json, displays the name, version, author, and description of non-official (non-@deepseek-ai/*) plugins, and indicates the source type (local installation / npm).
  • Enabling and Disabling: Supports hot switching of plugin runtime status. The disabled state is persisted by writing to ~/.dsh/cordis.patch.yml, and remains effective after restarting DSH.
  • Uninstall: Executes the disable operation and removes the dependency from the profile configuration.
  • Update Management: Checks for updates against the npm registry and supports one-click install/upgrade to the latest version (only for npm-installed plugins; locally installed plugins via file: do not support this).
  • Debugging: Provides a /tppm/debug troubleshooting endpoint to view the actual values of each stage in the list data source pipeline.

Prerequisites

  • DeepSeek Harness (DSH): Version 0.1.0-rc.7 or higher (must be a developer preview).
  • Node.js: Version >= 18.
  • Peer Dependency: @deepseek-ai/cordis ^4.0.1.

Installation

Use the dsh plugin command to install; this command automatically handles adding profile dependencies:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:ShanHaiFish/dsh-plugin-manager-lite

After installation, Host loads the plugin from ~/.dsh/profiles/web/node_modules/dsh-plugin-manager-lite/.

Usage

  1. Restart DSH: Ensure the new plugin takes effect.
  2. Open the interface: Open a browser and go to Web GUI -> Settings -> Plugins -> Third-party Plugins.
  3. Manage plugins:
    • Click “Refresh” to re-fetch the plugin list.
    • Click “Enable” or “Disable” to toggle the plugin runtime status.
    • Click “Check for Updates” or “Uninstall” to perform the corresponding action.
    • After a successful operation, the list refreshes automatically.

Development and Notes

  • Synchronization mechanism: Host actually loads the copy under the profile directory (~/.dsh/profiles/web/node_modules/dsh-plugin-manager-lite/). If source code is modified during development, changes must be synchronized to that copy and DSH must be restarted for them to take effect.
  • Debugging: If issues occur, visit the debug endpoint /tppm/debug to obtain diagnostic information.
