About this skill
The problem
Many answers to “how do I learn X” are too general: they suggest basic concepts and projects, but lack stage breakdowns, resource trade-offs, and time boundaries. skill-learning-path turns vague learning intent into an actionable report, making constraints such as target skill, current level, and available time explicit.
How it works
The skill first collects key inputs: target skill, current level, learning goal, time available per day/week, and learning preferences; missing values get reasonable defaults. It then structures content by skill type: programming/technical learning emphasizes official docs, classic books, practical projects, and stack selection; language learning covers listening/speaking/reading/writing, graded materials, and real usage scenarios; professional domains combine theory, practice, certification paths, and career directions. The output is a Markdown report where each stage includes a knowledge list, at least 3 resource recommendations, and a time range, ending with a detailed first-week plan.
Boundaries
It is better at generating structured learning paths than replacing courses themselves. If the goal is too broad, such as “learn programming,” it should be narrowed first. Resource recommendations favor widely recognized materials, but users should still filter them by context. The report is saved as xxx_learning_path.md or xxx_study_plan.md, useful for personal planning and team training prep.
Use Cases
- A backend engineer switching to Go needs a 3-month stage plan with resources and a first-week checklist.
- A frontend engineer learning web accessibility needs official docs, practice projects, and a 4-week path.
- An HR trainer onboarding new hires needs A2-B1 Japanese materials, practice scenarios, and a 5-hour weekly schedule.
- A data analyst preparing for SQL certification needs theory, practice platforms, and a 6-week pre-exam plan.
Best For
- Backend engineers changing tech stacks: need a 3-month staged roadmap and first-week tasks.
- HR trainers responsible for new-hire skills: need to split Japanese or SQL goals into materials, drills, and checkpoints.
- Self-directed learners: need to turn 5 weekly hours into a Python project roadmap and resource list.
- Engineering leads: need a shareable Markdown learning-path document for a new technical direction.
