About this skill

Problem It Addresses

When working with Baidu Netdisk in scripts, notes, or agent workflows, the practical challenge is not clicking through a UI, but safely handling appkey / secret, OAuth2 access_token acquisition, REST calls, and error diagnosis. This skill targets common tasks such as backing up local directories, organizing files by type, searching materials, creating/moving/renaming items, and troubleshooting failures like expired tokens, insufficient permissions, or rate limits.

How It Works

  • Authorization: First check whether the user is already authorized; if not, guide the authorization-code flow via https://openapi.baidu.com/oauth/2.0/authorize, then exchange the code for access_token / refresh_token at the token endpoint.
  • File operations: Use https://pan.baidu.com/rest/2.0/xpan/* endpoints, including xpan/file for listing, search, upload/download, instant upload, folder creation, move/rename, and trash.
  • Execution loop: Clarify the goal, validate credentials, call the API, and return results; on failure, provide error codes and a debugging path.

Boundaries

The skill provides method guidance and a call skeleton, but it does not take over credential ownership and must not access other users' Netdisks. Sensitive actions such as deletion or moving should require confirmation and preferably use trash. Keep app secret and access_token local only. If a community MCP wrapper is used, audit it yourself and follow the latest official Baidu Netdisk Open Platform documentation.

Use Cases

  • A local dev machine has accumulated project docs, and you need to upload a chosen folder to Baidu Netdisk in batches while preserving structure.
  • The Netdisk contains mixed code, images, PDFs, and spreadsheets, and you need to create folders by type and move files into them.
  • After taking over an old project, you need to search Netdisk file names via xpan/file and locate the relevant path.
  • While setting up a personal Open Platform app, you need to debug expired access_token, insufficient permissions, and rate-limit errors.

Best For

  • Technical users who need to back up personal local documents to Netdisk while preserving folder structure.
  • Engineers who organize personal Netdisk files, categorize them by type, and confirm moves before execution.
  • Developers integrating Baidu Netdisk Open Platform, handling OAuth2 authorization and REST file APIs.
  • Automation script authors debugging Netdisk API errors such as token refresh, insufficient permissions, and rate limits.
