About this skill
What It Solves
This skill is not aimed at producing resume templates or career slogans. It targets the harder situation: a user already has assessment data, manager feedback, self-evaluations, or project retrospectives, but still only has coarse conclusions such as “I am weak in detail,” “my strength is inconsistent,” or “this environment does not fit me.” The skill turns vague growth questions into an operable structure: build a data-based profile, distinguish capability gaps from misused strengths and environment mismatches, and end with a single action that can be taken today.
How It Works
- Data entry: When
references/assessment-template.mdis not filled, it supports pasting a full report, structured Q&A, or a self-description mode. If no formal assessment exists, it infers likely strengths and development areas from the user’s narrative and explicitly marks the source as self-reported inference. - Four working modes:
analysisinterprets scores, identifies tensions, and calibrates the difficulty of change;simulationchallenges the user for 3-5 rounds as a skeptical manager, investor, or teammate to surface blind spots;micro-practicegives one executable action that can be completed within 15 minutes;reviewmaps a past event back into the framework to see where strengths helped and where weaknesses dragged performance down. - Diagnosis order: Before analyzing, it checks three root causes: “cannot do it,” “overused a strength,” and “the environment does not reward this capability.” It then applies a strengths-management check: whether the user can compensate with a long strength, whether a tool, partner, or process can cover the gap, and what the smallest practice step would be.
- Output constraint: Recommendations must be single actions that can be done immediately, for example “open a browser now, search one keyword, and read three results,” rather than “build an information-gathering mechanism.”
Boundaries
The skill is suitable for personal growth, leadership feedback, communication coaching, and career decision rehearsal, but it is not a substitute for psychological treatment, validated assessment, or organizational development consulting. When the data is mainly self-reported, conclusions are affected by self-perception bias. For deeper traits such as planning preference, social orientation, or risk tolerance, short-term change should not be overpromised. For questions outside its scope, the skill should state the boundary clearly and recommend professional support.
Use Cases
- Use three-layer diagnosis to turn a leadership assessment report into clear strengths, weaknesses, and environment-fit insights.
- Run a simulation before an executive review so a senior role can challenge the plan and expose blind spots.
- Create a 15-minute micro-practice that gives one immediate communication action for a planning weakness.
- Review a failed project to identify where strengths helped, where weaknesses hurt, and what to adjust next.
Best For
- Managers who receive 360 feedback but cannot turn traits like “too strong” into specific management actions.
- Professionals who have assessment reports but can only say “improve communication” and need one-step actions.
- Engineers preparing upward reviews or project decisions who want to rehearse challenges and expose blind spots.
- Team members without formal assessments who want to infer strengths and gaps from self-reports.
