Problem

Automotive part suppliers preparing PPAP often face 18 submission requirements, different Level submissions, scattered customer-specific requirements, and inconsistent template fields. PPAP files cover design records, DFMEA, PFMEA, process flow diagrams, initial process studies, and other evidence. Manual review can miss required items, and blank templates may not become a clear, submittable checklist.

How It Works

The skill organizes PPAP work into four practical tasks:

• Knowledge lookup: explains PPAP definitions, applicability, process stages, and customer requirement differences
• Template generation: creates Submission Warrant, PPAP Checklist, inspection records, process flow diagrams, and related templates based on part information, submission level, and customer-specific requirements
• Completion guidance: explains required and optional fields for stages such as DFMEA, PFMEA, initial process capability studies, and measurement system analysis
• Completeness checks: uses scripts/ppap_checker.py to validate file status, level settings, and missing items, then outputs a JSON report

It reads references/ppap_knowledge.md, references/ppap_templates.md, references/ppap_guidance.md, and references/ppap_faq.md, turning reference material, template generation, and validation results into a readable report.

Boundaries

• Defaults to Level 3, but customer requirements may be stricter
• Checks cover completeness and structure, not technical accuracy
• Not intended for formal legal interpretation, professional certification replacement, or safety-critical emergency decisions
• The checker requires pyyaml>=6.0 and Python 3.9+
