About this skill
Problem
Price scoring rules in tender documents often appear scattered across evaluation sheets, screenshots, or PDFs, and may involve baseline prices, deviation rates, and deduction thresholds. Manual spreadsheet calculations can easily miss conditions, especially when comparing multiple bidder prices. bid-price-calc focuses only on price scoring rules and turns them into a locally opened browser calculator for repeated price trials.
How it works
The skill extracts price-related rules from the supplied evaluation material, ignoring technical and commercial sections. It determines priceDimensions: a single dimension uses one price score item, while multi-part rules become separate dimensions, and the columns, layout, and result table adapt accordingly.
It then translates the formula into calculateScores(bids), covering baseline price calculation, deviation rate, and deduction logic. The output is a rule.js file plus a fixed calculator.html copied to the same directory; opening the HTML runs all calculations locally without network access.
Boundaries
This is suited to cases where the scoring formula is reasonably clear and the main need is repeated what-if pricing. It does not resolve ambiguous rules, unexplained commercial interdependencies, or legal interpretation. calculator.html is the fixed shell; only rule.js should change when rules change, and calculateScores should remain a pure function without global state.
Use Cases
- After receiving the evaluation rules in a tender document, turn baseline price and deviation rate formulas into a local calculation page
- When supplier prices change, repeatedly replace multiple price sets to test different score rankings
- When handling multi-dimensional scoring, split each score part into columns and generate a result table
Best For
- Commercial bid specialist: needs to turn evaluation formulas into a repeatable pricing trial page
- Bid manager: needs quick score ranking when comparing prices from multiple suppliers
- Presales consultant: needs offline pricing trials without uploading data
- Evaluation rule analyst: needs to structure price scoring rules from tender documents
