About this skill

What Problem It Solves

When AI research notes are scattered across chat excerpts, pasted snippets, and temporary notes, it is hard to tell which conclusions have sources and which are assumptions. ai-research-trail-organizer does not browse the web or read local files; it only organizes user-supplied excerpts, links, and notes into a traceable research trail.

How It Works

The skill confirms the goal and scope, normalizes pasted material into source-aware fragments, and groups them into 3 to 7 topic clusters. It extracts key claims and labels them:
- Supported: directly backed by supplied material
- Partially supported: plausible but incomplete evidence
- Unsupported: asserted without evidence
- Question: needs follow-up or clarification

It then maps claims to user-provided evidence, notes source strength, conflicts, and gaps, and lists unsupported claims, private data cautions, and next actions.

Boundaries and Caveats

It is useful for structuring existing material, not for automatic literature retrieval, link verification, or accessing local files. For legal, medical, financial, or expert decisions, it organizes evidence and questions rather than producing conclusions.

Use Cases

  • Turn multiple AI chat snippets into topic clusters, noting which conclusions have sources and which evidence is missing before a tech-stack review.
  • Check pasted AI research excerpts for supported versus unsupported claims, then build an evidence map and a follow-up verification list.
  • Group decision-related fragments from several AI sessions, identify missing links and open questions, and prepare a report for stakeholders.
  • Clean research fragments containing sensitive identifiers, flag material needing redaction, and output an archivable trail with actions.

Best For

  • Product managers using AI-assisted research who need scattered chat notes turned into traceable decision evidence.
  • Engineers drafting technical proposals who need to separate sourced conclusions, unverified assumptions, and evidence gaps.
  • Analysts managing research notes who need AI excerpts clustered and missing evidence flagged.
  • Team leads preparing review materials who need risky claims, sensitive data, and next actions listed quickly.
